I'm a Korean living in Korea.
I want to play Diablo 3 in English.
But, they only provide an option for Korean for Korea
[they also don't support Macs either but since thats irrelevant to me..]
So my current plan as of now is to normally purchase the Korean version of the game in a local store [preferably CE] link the key to my account and play the game with the US client that I've downloaded, thanks to CCG_Chinny
Do you guys think that this plan will work?
One of my concerns is that I've noticed that recent cd keys from previous Blizzard titles seem to be assigned to certain regions. What I've seen is that I got a LoD cd key from someone I knew some time ago and I tried to link it to my B-net account and got an error message.
The error message suggested to me to try changing my B-net region setting and I realized that I put my settings in NA. After changing the settings the CD key was linked without any problem.
This leads to me thinking that there might be some kind of complication if I tried to use the US client with my game key assigned for Korea.
Oh and, believe me, I tried asking in the official Blizzard KR forum but they're just plain ignoring me. In the past they at least gave the 'dun't know nuthin, nobody ain't tell us nuthin' excuse.
I do believe that is totally possible; Downloading the region you want to play in (no matter where you are) and playing on that region. I think the only hiccup is you HAVE to use that regions RMAH and AH (the one you downloaded).

well that won't be a problem since I don't care about the RMAH too much.
as long as I can play in English with my region in Korea I'm a happy camper
