I thought this was a little odd of a change, kind of silly really at first. Seeing as level 1-20 is the easiest of the easy, the newbiest of the newby.
but I guess if this is needed that means they are trying to make it in line with the higher levels (there must have been to big of a jump), which means they are going to be tuff. (like they say...) (hopefully) in which case that brings good news
A fresh barb/monk could potentially die then. I've been close with melee chars a few times, when I get a bit too reckless on a new char with only found gear.
Wizard/doctor will still breeze through unharmed I reckon.
You have defensive skills for a reason good sir ;). Use them right and i'm sure you'll be okay.

Sure, that's a given, but at the expense of damage unlike certain other classes. I have faith that it'll change later on though.
How is a defensive skill at the expense of damage? You get one 4 second stun every ~ 15 seconds, or one blinding flash every 12 ?
These are tied by default to skill slot 1 ... thus leaving you with 2-3 skill slots to pick your dps abilities?

Well looking at my Monk right now I use Fists of Thunder, Exploding Palm, Lashing Tail Kick and Mantra of Evasion. If I'm forced to use a defensive skill I have to kick one skill out of my build. That is probably one of the Spirit Generators... not that I lose to much damage because of that... its just more fun to use two
Oh and with double damage I imagine that the melee classes could actually need potions/health globes to survive
arguably ... mantra of evasion is a defensive skill
A lot of people keep on complaining about Beta being easy when they do not do naked runs the first moment they started playing with a level 1 character.
Of course it's easy since you already leveled up and that is BETA. It's different in game when you have access to the whole game and not just until Leoric.
Play the Beta with a fresh new character (a new one, take note) without picking up any weapon upgrade or gear at all the first time around... bet you'll think otherwise.

if you read above i said i already do that. However, I do take weapon upgrades because it becomes annoyingly slow to kill anything without damage.
Cherub, Molster... I didn't think it possible for me to love you guys more than I already do. You guys have made my night with this information... Much needed as it's been a crappy night. (^.^)
If they double the dmg, I bet more people die in the Jar of Souls event, especially when not level capped.
Nah... with random gear you get so many damage to attackers that they kill themselves before killing you.
All you have to do to survive this is move every 10 seconds to pick up health orbs
Or maybe it'll force people not to just stand there and take the hits when they should be using their defensive abilities or moving out of the way before they get surrounded (I hope... hehehe)
I actually starting running the game gear naked (except for rings and weapon slots).

Has this been applied to the beta ?
I believe it will be in the next Beta patch, but please don’t ask me when it’s getting released, I don’t know.

My PvP build would be different from these 13.

I think it will be harder than the Witch Doctor for sure
Hehe, I'm kind of thinking the same thing. Give me a reason to use caltrops and vault. Little sad that Vault was pushed back to lvl 13.
