In this day and age, it seems facts do not matter. It's just what you want to believe in. Inuendo90, I am looking at you. The following is Blizzard's link to all the job listings for their Unannounced Project -- basically every listing states Diablo by name...
This is real, folks. No, Blizzard does not come out and say, "Hey, we're working on D4." But, it's not some smalltime Druid add-on when you're talking about a Creative Director and Executive Producer being sought after.
I don't like the idea of an MMO as it will likely be "good nephalem vs evil nephalem" or something similar, and I think that is an extremely stupid idea. If they have a different plan for "sides" or just no opposing sides other than heroes vs the burning hells I might be inclined to give it a chance. I also honestly doubt that Diablo has the same universal appeal to be a successful MMO and I believe that Blizzard knows this. Warcraft was successful because it could draw a much wider audience. Horror has always been pretty niche. I don't think they'll take the risk.
A darksouls/open world type of game in the Diablo universe I would absolutely love, but I have a very strong suspicion that they won't do this. I also find it a bit unlikely that Blizzard will deviate from the core concept of the game which is dungeon crawl/item hunt.
It's a bit late for an expansion, and to keep up with the indistry tthey need to use a newer game engine, so I think we'll be getting a new game. Hopefully a sequel to not scrap the established characters who have unfinished stories. I really hope they get better writers, as Reaper of Souls was better executed than the entire vanilla game. No sublety, dialogue was very bad for bosses, game isn't even a challenge unless you start on expert, everything was made to be "epic" so nothing actually felt like it was, for an M rated game it felt rather childish, too much dialogue that was basically a vehicle to explain extremely easy quests, not enough character development for Leah, a blinking yellow circle on your map made it easy to find everything, you could be asleep and play this game.
I really love this game series, and I want it to be good. I hope Blizzcon will pleasantly surprise me.

While you are most likely correct, all this doesn't rule out they're working with a completely new direction for Diablo franchise and at the same time, D3 expansion. If they are heading into a new direction, they might want to ease the pain with D3 content and story conclusion.
Gamescom 2018, Blizzard will be there with 3 big halls. The CEO of Gamescom did mention that there will be alot of world premieres on the Opening Ceremony of the convention. Maybe, just maybe, we will see something. So there is 2 weeks left of waiting for Gamescom, hope to see something there.

It actually DO make sense for them to hype something new at Gamescom since this means more money for digital tickets at Blizzcon and we all know they (ActiBlizz) love money. It's the only thing you can precisely predict their moves on - money.
About D2 HD - I think this appears ALWAYS before the D4 release. You use the hype around D4 and milk the old cow again before finally putting it in the coffin after its grandchild appearing.
So the three major questions for D4 are:
1. When?
2. What genre?
3. What monetization?
And of course the never ending related one - how they plan to deal with BOTTING? That is also a nice poll question - would you buy D4 if you know people will start botting from day 2?
For me the strong reasons to buy and follow D4 would be:
- A new amazing game engine with better combat than D3
- Highly advanced and sophisticated itemization with more builds than in PoE
- An e-Sport scene
The reasons to NOT buy it would be:
- Not a classical top-down aRPG
- Console-like gameplay and game interaction
- No solution to botting
A lot of stuff these D4 devs have to do in order to satisfy the dedicated fans. Could they do it or the corporate greedy idiots will cut completely the dedicated fans in their new installment?
I think the big thing I am looking for in D4 or whatever it will be called is more depth in every aspect of the game. They dumbed down D3 a bit too much. Deeper skill system without going overboard like in POE where the skill tree can actually be quite daunting to a new player. Deeper side-kick system -- being able to have more skills, do more damage, equip more slots, so for solo players you have a whole other thing to work on -- your helper.
Deeper clan system -- give clans xp for completing weekly quests and then perks for leveling up. Perks can then be spent on bonuses/passive rewards for clan members.
D3 released in China in 2015. It's only 3 years old there. Wonder if that affects anything any way.
Also, Blizzard is known to want to keep low end computers along - so what D4 would look like? Only thing improving would be almost photorealistic graphics. If they choose cartoonish graphics instead of D3 artistic graphics, I'm going to cry.
Even then botting devalues the updates you get since more player base equals more updates and botting destroys a large portion of the player base. And of course it affects those who seek competition - something that games from all kind of genres are looking to create since this elevates your game to a new level - the eSport level - where you don't need milking/monetizing anymore in order to sustain your game.
Here is a quote from the Mount & Blade II developer from 2 days ago for example: "After the success of the Battle of Bucharest last year, we wanted to do more to promote and grow the competitive scene of Mount & Blade. Right now, these efforts will be focused on Mount & Blade: Warband, but obviously we are also laying the foundations for the future competitive scene of Bannerlord."

They might add more character DLCs if Necro was a success there, but we don't know the numbers. If they don't announce a new class at this Blizzcon, D3 is done. A new class however will bring more power creep and they will have to raise the GR level cap.
This Blizzcon looks like the most important for the whole Diablo franchise since D2 HD, D3 future and D4 announcement are at stake.

I am pretty skeptical about another D3 class DLC, but it really depends WHEN D4 is going to be released. They might release new D3 content if D4 is coming after 3 years from now. But if it is sooner, like 2020, they'll focus all resources on it probably.
Frank Dux: If you press 4 at the start of the video it takes you straight to 0:26 which is the future announcement. Diablo 4 Confirmed.
Are you sure its the classic one? Seems darker than the original?
Also the claw marks seem longer than what I'm able to find with google. Don't know. I would thought a new D3 logo would have significantly different colors than previous 2. Something like those gift laptops do have.
"Fans are going to lose theif shit next year" from 2015 and "you have no idea (how excited I am)" from 2018 comments are pretty much alike. While in 2016 we saw only Necro which makes me think if some of these projects have been done since 2015.

Have a nice day
Let the hype begin.

I want three things that are missing from D3:
- Hunt for runewords
- endgame challenge outside greater rifts
- campaign playable at endgame

Noticed the shirt of Brandy had a different D3 Logo than RoS? Just sayin'...
I noticed that too but isn't it the traditional D3 logo? At one frame it can be almost fully seen. Not sure tho.
T-shirt is the classic one.
Btw, from the youtube comments:

True, I agree to an extent.
