Like most people I've come back to the game since the new patch and a few things have changed.
I've Google'd this everywhere but answers seem to vary and are old so I thought I'd ask here.
Put simply how do I add a socket to my weapon?
Do I use the Cube, last time I played there was no Cube so yes its been awhile.
I have a Reilena's Shadowhook and seen a few people have socketed a crit gem to it.
I dont have a socket in mine but I'm sure theres a way I can add one and the Cube seems to have a few options I dont understand so I'm hoping theres an option there or somewhere else to add a socket component,
Also I can reroll my stats for armour and weapon through the Cube cant I apart from using the enchant npc which only lets me reroll one stat?
Again I've seen a few people on YouTube that have played around with stats so maybe they just waited until they got the piece they wanted after farming again and again or they just rerolled all the stats again somehow?
1-to add a socket to your weapon u want to use the Ramaladni gift,a droppable item that allow you to do that without reroll anything into a socket.
2/3-to entirely reroll something into your armor or weapon u want to use the Cube and with some luck you can have what you need, plus the item can be ancient or even primal. It's all a matter of luck and how many reagents you have to fill the cube with.
Item rerolled via Cube cant be ancient or primal (so it is said in the recipy). Not to mention that u have to beat GR70 first to be able to have a chance on getting primals.
Other than rerolling stat for socket, or using Ramaladni Gift u can just grind. Its all about grinding really.
you are wrong, "reforge legendary item" can give an ancient or primal item, only the "convert set item" cant give it ancient.
Still, the best way to get a socket in the weapon is by using Ramaladni's gift, which is hard to see for the first time, but you will get plenty of them after the first one
dumb question again but if I do pick one up they'll be in my miscellaneous bag right?
No, Ramaladni's Gift is an item in the bags.
As for other questions. VRL was right, you can reroll legendary item in cube and it could be an ancient/primal. The other thing is you can reroll one primary stat on weapon to get socket (visit the Mystic in town). Sometimes when I got new weapon and no Ramaladni's (beginning of season:P) I take the less useful stat, change it into a socket and when RG drops I simply change socket do something good (ex. 10% damage) and add socket via RG.
Item rerolled via Cube cant be ancient or primal (so it is said in the recipy).
You're getting mixed up I think. If you use the Reroll SET item option then it can't be Ancient.
However, if you use the Reforge Legendary option then it can be. I believe this is the option that is being talked about.
But aside from this, I'd recommend just playing. It's unlikely that is the best weapon for you, so just play and better will drop.
And yes, to push you'll want a good weapon with good stats, rolled Ancient, and you'll want a Ramalandis Gift to put a Socket in (this is far better than simply getting the weapon to drop with a Socket or using the Enchantress because it means you have a whole extra stat on your weapon) , and the best Green gem you can get
And finally, other than Reroll in the entire item, the only way to change single stats is via the Enchantress. The only way to get a 'perfect' item is to grind, and get lucky eventually, with the ability to Reroll one stat.
Ok so you cant always pick the weakest attribute or the one you want to change then?
I havent noticed a socket as an option on anything I've looked at yet although the other day I was rerolling a stat on my followers ring and it came up.
Thats the only time I've seen a socket appear.
I play on Xbox One and whenever I hit X to see a list of alternatives Enchants the option of sockets never show up so I was thinking/hoping it was just a random thing no matter what you were changing it for.
