Not losing interest just enjoying other games while waiting (because there are other games).

I love all loot fest kind of game! I will be playing all of them for the next few years. Loot fest games I'm looking forward to: LotR: War in the North,Torchlight 2,Borderlands 2 and of course Diablo 3.
Now I will follow Blizzcon and then wait for release. I don't think there is anything more Blizzard and D3 team can do to hype this game. It's basically time for release, there isn't really anything more to reveal that will keep people interested for a long time.
A sixth class!!! Lol.
Nah they still have some class changes for the DH, Wizard and WD to reveal. They can add PVP to the beta to get some more hype. Also reveal what they have done with the rune system, skill swapping system and skill progression system. In addition i'm sure they have some surprises that we haven't heard about yet that will be revealed during Blizzcon - one might be the release date. =)
It's not odd to not be super pumped every day all the time. I have certainly not lost interest, but since I don't have beta and I've read about all there is about the game atm my interest is not at it's highest.
I'm still really looking forward to the game, but doing other things in between. It comes and goes. Blizzcon is soon so that'll be super awesome with some new info hopefully that'll get me pumped again :).
I'm disappointed with the beta, the game should be released in 2009-2010, now it feels outdated, I'm more exited with Kingdoms Of Amalur. I'll buy diablo, but i feel it's going to be like Starcraft II for me - 2 times beating the campaign and forget about game

And a sudden plunge in the sullen swell. Ten fathoms deep on the road to hell...
I've been good and interested in D3 ever since I beat D2 many many years ago. And I was still really excited for it last year. But I am now losing much of my interest in D3, as I have waited too long, and can see that it is not going to match up to the brilliance that D2 once was (before they ruined it with synergies).
Is it just me, or are others losing interest as well?
Synergies made D2 awesome!
Actually, they were cool, imo, but what actually made D2 awesome was the mechanics of the cube + runes. The fact that normal items were worth farming in order to socket in order to put runes in... it gave value to just about anything that dropped. The result was that instead of endless farming for the "one" item, there were many items that could do the trick, though some were still more valuable than others.
D3 seems like it will be a blast, but I'm concerned about the lack of rune-type mechanics. Hopefully the crafting system makes up for it... Having that means of making your own useful items tailored to your character is key.
I lost interest in the beta and thats all fine i got plenty of stuff to do IRL .
I did not loose any interest in D3 tough i will go buy it day 1 and play it for years .
Why would I lose interest? I've been expecting this game for several years. What's another few months? People are too impatient regarding games and releases these days. Enjoy the hype, read up on the information given to us and just carry on with your lives. The game will be out when it's out. I'd rather have a finished/polished game than a buggy, frustrating experience and I'm sure many others on this forum would too.
I think too many were expecting a beta key and since they didn't one they've decided to lose interest. Don't log onto this site or any other D3 news sites for a few days at a time. Check only on weekends or something like that. It may help keep the news fresh and forum posts will have a week to filled with new ideas and comments. Coming here daily and reading the same info over and over is obviously too much for some folks.

This. I got bored of the beta since I didn't get in yet, and watching such a small contet is not amusing after a time. I just got off the hype-train a few weeks ago, which caused lack of interest in the Dfans forums, but not the game. Depending on the released info at Blizzcon, I might get hyped again.
Bit of a trick question imo. I've lost interest for now, because i'm otherwise occupied and D3 isn't really all that close at hand (well, compared to what we knew last year it is). That said, i'll certainly be interested again a few weeks before release and I don't think the wait will have any impact on wether or not I buy the game.
I have many more likings in games than just Diablo 3. I play the touhou series games too. They just released a new one recently. I also play elder scrolls oblivion, starcraft 2, and random doujin games. The best way to wait for Diablo 3 is to simply not wait for it. Just ignore its release and play other games in the meantime. It'll release seemingly quicker that way.
Just my opinion, but basing your like, or dislike on a game you've never played, is like saying you don't like a certain food, drink, or whatever without trying it ever. Interest may fade, but that's only because news has been slow, after blizzcon people will be clamoring again, and these forums will be over run with all kinds of hate/like threads like a few months ago.
But it's like you said, his interests may fade, but he didn't say he liked or disliked the game.
As I've been saying for awhile now, I've most definitely lost interest in D3. I've also gone on to say that yes, of course I will buy it once it comes out. But I can't imagine feeling that excited to play it as I could've been at some other point. I just hate the marketing of D3, I hate the hubris of its developers, and I realize none of that should matter when it comes down to the game itself, but for me it simply has affected my overall feelings of the game.
Blizzard should take a lesson from Bethesda I think. Or even Bioware. They don't tell you about every single little thing they're implementing or revising. They just shut the hell up for the large part of their development cycle, they have faith in what they're doing and they do not engage with their fans over every little minute detail of gameplay, and they get their games done with enough time having passed that you get way excited for the next one, but not so much time that you just see them as lazy and cocky.

Same here, there is a difference between losing interest in the Beta and losing interest in the game itself. Personally the Beta doesnt seem like a big deal anymore since you can watch 1,000 different full playthroughs on YouTube. Would I still like the Beta? Sure. But if I dont get in, meh. Of course when D3 actually does come out I will be first inline to get it, and will probably call out of work for a few days.
I'm interested, but I'm not checking my account daily for Beta access. I'm sure as we get closer to release that I'll get diablo fever once again. My interest has definitely decreased over the last 2 months.
Lost interest in the beta a bit, perhaps. But not in the final game. I'm really looking forward to an extremly polished and fun game, with some killer cinematics.
Not burned out in the sense that i am not getting D3 on day one and going crazy when it does launch; But burned out in the sense that i've seen enough of beta, now i'm forgetting about D3 until the new year (meanwhile playing rage, dark souls, TF2, and skyrim soon, to keep myself occupied.)
1) You aren't loosing interest because your still visiting diablo forums and fan sites
2) Blizz Con is that close I could piss on it (Given the time criteria it seems we have much to look forward to)
3) For those who have waited a decade like myself, couple more months won't kill you.

Did a similar thread weeks back. Im with you. Hype is gone and people are babbling about "Your gonna get hyped soon enough!" I think thats bulls***. Im gonna be Hyped when its installed and if it works over the god damn internet.
Its too many "what if" until I can play D3, it sucks.

This seems to be the general feeling amongst us all.
The poll is actually very stupidly arranged. It should have been:
-Lost complete interest in Diablo 3.
-Only lost interest in the beta.
-Still totally interested.
-I'll see how I feel when it comes out.
It would make a whole lot more sense than the current options...
