There you have it folks, Diablo isn't being left in the dark as many have said. Those that have been paying attention already came to the conclusion that Blizzard is hard at work toiling with something dank and evil. Whether you were disappointed with Blizzcon's Necromancer showing or happy to raise the dead, this is good news all around!
It might take some time to see the fruits of their labor but we can rest assured that the Prime Evils will bring Sanctuary into the darkness once more.
i hope they dont make us wait for another 10 years, thats the main problem. its already been 4.. or 5 years? necro gonna be next year so new game at least need 1-2 years with most optimistic guess.. that makes 7 years at best. some people like me, already got bored of d3. lately i installed diablo 1 & 2 again and playing them over and over(btw, those games have real deal fun & atmosphere, i wish blizzard inspect those games again to capture real diablo feel... but i was proven wrong in past, believing that blizzard isnt stupid, so they probably do the dumbest thing to do, and continue on making a poor story driven disney version of wow in future diablo. my wishes and blizzard doesnt meet for a long time now.)
Alot more people would play diablo 3 if it went to monthly subs. We would get more xpacs and alot more patch content then we are seeing now.
We paid 40 bucks for this xpac and its 3 years old its dead, activity will go up in jan but after that it'll drop to nothing again. So that is just a money grab squeezing what little life is left of this game.
I highly doubt diablo 4 or an xpac will come anytime in the next couple years if they are looking for dev right now lol
Seems like a story creator for hero packs in a future for campaign!
So after all let down on blizzcon we still getting info/hints that it's not all, it will not be an xpack, but hero packs with story to tell for just 20 dollars? I mean this looks obvious that this job post is for Diablo 3 and related to necromancer pack...
They need to create a story or else it would be empty hero pack without nothing to tell you about and for price it should be set as high as possible with activision standards (thats why they didn't told us how much).
You would not hire a "Game Designer" for a simple Necromancer pack.
You hire game designers to streamline an entire project. This is absolutely either an expansion, Diablo 4, or a MASSIVE DLC pack that offers a new act, new story, new game systems, etc.....
I think people need to come to realize that the Diablo 3 engine has a lot of room for growth, so we very well could see Diablo 3 evolve into simply being called "Diablo" with constant DLC packs revamping it every 6 months or so! I personally would be all for that. It gives you something to look forward too. You are not just playing dead in the wind wondering if they will ever do anything new. Instead, you would know that two times a year you are going to get some form of content that is going to add more play-ability to the game.
We would all welcome that! And at the least, if it is not the D3 engine, I really believe the next game in the series is going to simply be called "Diablo" and will follow the model I shared in the paragraph above.
They are making a first person Diablo game a-la Elder Scrolls style. You will be able to pvp in first person, kill the Uber Diablo raid boss, and have Deckard Cain identify your items in beautiful 1st person 4k.
This place is full of seti type people. everything you guys keep posting is some trumped up opinion on something you have no actual proof to go on. Blizzard does so many games you never get to hear about and scraps them all the time, if you look at the YEARS it took between D2 (expansion 2001) and D3 release (2012) that should be enough to show you D4 or an expansion would not be around for YEARS. Not 1 year or 2 or 3 BUT YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEARS. stop posting bullshit , that is why they made facebook.

Why do people like you ignore the facts?
Like the story they told us at Blizzcon. To summarize the story, from 2005-2009, they had massive struggles maintaning servers for WoW, the companies cash cow, and they used every ounce of manpower they had to deliver. Thus, SC2 and D3 were delays 5+ years to make sure WoW became the hit that it is today.
Because of this, I firmly believe future Blizzard projects are going to be beyond kickass experiences.
Overwatch is the first game to come out since the company began to collect this insane amount of revenue from WoW (some of you are going to say hearthstone, but hearthstone was originally going to be an in game minigame for WoW that they expanded upon, so the game really is just an extension of WoW.)
Bottom line, the facts are that they finally have a dedicated staff again for each game, and I expect to see some pretty amazing things from Blizzard moving forward. If you thought this company was able to make kickass games before, just wait until you see what they can do with nearly 4000% more yearly revenue!!!!!
Something along those lines (1st person, open-world survival) would give the franchise a nice reboot.
Imagine if they could provide the dark-tense atmosphere on d1 and (part of) d2 in a 1st person game.
It's so freaking sad that we have to try to find hidden clues in Job openings, after they decide to humiliate the Diablo franchise on its 20th anniversary.

They did not humiliate a damn thing, you people need to drop it!!!!
You think that the darkening of Tristram and motivation to create the Necro is nothing? All World of Warcraft did for its 10 year anniversary was offer an xp boost, and give a small bag of goodies.
The passion they are pouring into D3 is evident, they still care about the game immensely, and the lot of you need to stop acting like self-righteous people and see the facts!
Yeah dream on nothing will come except some halfhearted january dungeon and eventually the necro and armor rack late 2017, which is fine.. but not really what the game needed.
Blizz and a few of the dedicated D3 players could have taken this game somwhere, but Blizz is a big machine and I guess pets, transmog and the occasional useless legendary gem is what the game has come to. Sure necro looks cool, but the armory is really stuff anyone with 1000 hours D3 woudl have implemented years ago for free.
I do enjoy the game, but Blizzard is fuck all passionate about it..we used to get weekend buffs and events.. now they dont even care to change anything for new seasons except a new portrait or pet. Stop dreaming its not a conspiracy to make something grand new and shiny, its just a big corporation, killing its game slowly while selling as many D3 copies on post like this.

Blizzard's "first person" job post isn't the only one that's raising a few eyebrows.
Senior Game Design - Diablo

I bet you are the one who was expecting d4 announcement on blizzcon
yes i was. damn fool i am to expect something intelligent from activision blizzard.

why the hell people think we should pay more for more diablo? they allready earned millions and millions. we allready made them super rich.

Zt1mQ: No that would be Kripp.
If they are going for a Diablo based FPS game, I think it might be one of these options:
1. A single player experience that would attempt to rival the stature of Half Life
2. A survival fps game like ARK: Survival evolved
3. A death match based game like COD/BF
4. A mobs style fps game like OW
I think the first two options make more sense... Option 4 doesn't make sense at all.
They are making a first person Diablo game a-la Elder Scrolls style. You will be able to pvp in first person, kill the Uber Diablo raid boss, and have Deckard Cain identify your items in beautiful 1st person 4k.
It simply can't be a diablo or any other form of first person moba games. They would not makedirect competition to their own game, overwatch.
This might be something similiar to Warhammer Vermintide or left for dead. If it was a first person diablo game with A LOT of loot. Sign me up !
Could it be a reboot of The Lost Vikings ala Elder Scrolls style?
I actually think that what Unseeneel mentioned makes the most sense. A FPS Diablo game in the style of Borderlands would be really awesome.
