as every rune works differently, depending on rank the effects will not change, however the stat bonuses that rune gives will vary... +%dmg, +%time length etc... maybe AOE will change too but i still wander.
They just increase in their respective effect. I am sure each one will have a particular increase with a particular effect. Did you have something more specific you were looking for?

Well as skills increase they do get powerful but sometimes a added effect is put on them (maybe for the last skills level)
I asked Bashiok about this idea and his response was that it was possible. However, we have seen no examples of this idea either. But then again, we havent really seen any rank 7 runes except maybe magic missile.
I could really see them doing something like this specifically for rank 7 runes especially if that's an end game goal. Nothing major but just adding one more small effect. But I guess we will have to wait to see.

This kind of makes me wonder about the resource cost one now, for a level 7 reduce resource cost rune if your not using this you must be SUCKING DOWN the mana ,
I can only imagine that the difference is huge, unless its a reduce damage 50% on level 1 and level 7 rune is 0 reduce damage.

A small effect at rank 7 would be nice for endgame indeed, both in stats, and visually. Truth is visually it will be difficult to tell what rank Rune someone has in there skill just by seeing their skill in action most of the time. I would find it interesting if each Rune gave a little extra feature visually at rank 7 to distinguish itself, on top of a small boost in a stat other than what the prior 6 ranks offer.

There are a total of 7 ranks in runes. (1-3 Normal, 4-5 Nightmare, 6-7 Hell Modes)
