I've been watching Microsoft E3 after missing it on Spike & G4 earlier yesterday...
I watched Fable - The Journey and watched how epic that was on the kinect, moving your hands and creating new weapons & magic. It seems like kinect is going to be insanely awesome for games that deal with weapons, magic, guns and just about everything else in those genre's.
second, at this stage its still gimmicky. diablo is a game of seconds, precision and complexity which this interactive medium is not capable of fostering. maybe in a distant future, but definitely not d3.
I'm already annoyed enough they're doing it to fable. Kinect, Wii, whatever sony made, it's all a gimmick and it gets old and tiring, if I wanted to say play for an hour it wouldn't even be fun anymore at that point. You can't seriously play a game with systems like these, not for extended periods. You end up focusing more on physical movements more than the story and elements of the game itself.
It's an interesting idea, though personally I don't see there being any way possible to translate the accuracy you get with a mouse and keyboard, to a motion sensing platform. It raises a lot of challenges. Though if anyone can over come them, Blizzard can I guess. I still see it not being a logical move though.
“We act as though comfort and luxury were the chief requirements of life, when all that we need to make us happy is something to be enthusiastic about.” - Albert Einstein
I've seen and used Kinect. It's very clunky. Games like Diablo would require much higher precision than this.
And even then, I'm not sure how this would be implemented. It's an isometric control game, not a first person game (where this would fit much better), playing it via Kinect would just be weird. Specifically auto-aim spells would get screwy since you'll end up having to skillshot them LOL.
I've never used the kinect but I would love to play D3 on the wii. Sitting and mashing buttons gets boring to me. I like something a little more interactive.

All those motion controllers suck big time. As gimmicks they're worth some fun for fifteen minutes, but they're not practical for serious games. I'd still rather have a keyboard and mouse. A pad is alright as well.
THIS.
To be very ****ing honest, I have gotten so sick of the Wii ruinning EVERY SINGLE Nintendo game series I loved.
Motion control isn't gaming. Its just a joke.
And I'm a gamer. Stop trying to ruin games with motion shit. They add nothing at all to a game. They have no part in the essence of any game whatsoever. They are just stupid gimmicks, and were never more than a money gaming trick.
At the very fucking least, leave my god damn PC out of it.
It's not like it's going to be strictly for kinect on xbox 360 and it still will be released for PC, why not give Diablo 3 a few more ways to play & enjoy the game?
I don't know it seems like the majority of the posts in this topic deal with I dislike kinect or don't allow Diablo 3 on consoles!

Because it's an isometric game.
Kinect can work for 1st person games maybe even 3rd person, but not for something isometric where on-click is important. It's like trying to do Kinect League of Legends.
To me the biggest problem hasn't been brought up yet. The Kinect has no way of really moving a character. I will give the Wii U a nod but that is because it can hold all the necessary functionality in its system, though they need to fix the damn controller to I say I would even consider buying it.
All the Kinect games I've seen have involved an "on-rails" mechanic since without a D-pad its hard to give a sense of direction. Also think about the amount of time needed to master a character. Muscle memory would be an issue to get all your moves for each character down without causing them to spin around.
The idea is just not good and the tech, while promising, is still too young for precision gaming.

Imagine that for Diablo 3? That would be epic and so much fun.
I don't know this just randomly popped up in my head. How amazing would a Diablo 3 game be like that?
INB4 NO!

Just kidding. I'd never play anything on Kinect.

I Still think NO
MAYBE in 10 years when there's new, better technology.
