Nothing breaking here, we've all known they're leaning towards a 4-player cap in co-op play, but I thought I'd share regardless. From the @Diablo twitter account:
@TeslaFalcon Right now we're playing with four in co-op. That's not necessarily set in stone, but it's looking like a solid number. 6:01 PM Jul 1st via CoTweet in reply to TeslaFalcon
Just sharing the news, not meaning to debate a dead horse here really. I'll say I'm a big fan of the 4-player cap, though. My best online gaming experience was Phantasy Star Online for the Dreamcast (no, really) and I think one of the hallmarks of that experience was the small player cap; it allows for more intimacy in playing mechanics, from more reliance among those playing to survive/proceed, but also in feelings of genuine contribution. Just my two cents.
I totally agree. I'm used to play in 5 men party (wow, aoc). I know those are totally different games, but, when i tryed to get back to diablo i just felt that playing with 8 people was a mess.
And the need a smaller party is even greater in D3.
The 4 player limit is good. I never liked more than that many when I was playing multi player. The most fun I had in multi player was with one other person that knew how to play. Most of my experience in D2 multi play was with people that had no idea to play or were just annoying jerks.

On Strike and supporting Fallout 4 Mod Makers
Some fallout 4 mod makers have had their mods stolen and uploaded and downloaded on Bethesda's site for the Xbox One.
I had a hissy fit when I first saw this, but am comming to accept it, most 8 player games the other 4 were off in their own group doing their own thing anyway.
but for PVP I hope they push it back up to at least 8 for big clan wars,
I dont know, pvp only games?
Get real, folks, the diablo you all knew is dead, a few years ago i said right here in this forum that D3 had a pretty good chance of being blizzard first bust (i was flamed to death ofc), and what you know, its not even beta and its already looking that way.
And this has nothing to do with PvP, why the hell do everyone still think that this will work exactly like D2 and that a 4 player limits means a 2v2 limit for PvP? Jesus...
Imo this is not the number of players that can JOIN a game, but the number max player capacity of a PARTY. There are no reasons to not allow tons of players to hang around in the town. This can limit the game experience in subjective aspects w/o any gain.
How to limit more then one party running the same dungeon is another issue. They can easilly solve that by adding "stances" on everything outside the town, for example.

Has blizzard said anything about pvp in D3 being different than D2? Anything about the cap on pvp games? Anything about these ''pvp games'', D3 will really have then?
Links with blue, if possible, i guess i missed then.
ps: How can a limit of 4 per game not be a limit of 2x2 in pvp?

Well, I think PvP and Diablo do not belong in the same sentence anyway... but as people said PvP may have totally different rules. And PvE wise, this is a great change.
The problem is that we don't know if any of that is going to make it into the game!
Pvp games, stances, they're great, but those are features WE want in the game, the truth is we don't know nothing about pvp in D3, and as of know, its safer to assume that D3 will work just like D2.
Hopefully blizzcon will prove me wrong, right now, pvp games are just a dream.

Well, do be fair, you can't say 'we' want anything, the D3 fanbase is huge and complex, lots of people wanting lots of different things.
RE: PvP, they have indeed stated that they are aware of the importance of PvP, and though they haven't gotten specific, they are working on an implementation of PvP that will be much more mechanically sound (like just about every other facet of the game) than it was in D2.
i can live with 4 but i'd prefer 5. one of each class.
and i'm completely uncertain about how the games will be created at this point. is it going to be more like a mmo when playing online? can see random people in town and its "instanced" for your party when you venture to the wilderness and/or dungeons or will it be Diablo typical?
got to wait up and see i guess.

I hope they're more akin to DII format: you make a game and people can join it. I hate collecting people in towns and being completely alone afterwards, I'm really bad at collecting people in towns... killed GW for me before I could play it. >_<
yeah, even though i got used to it (see WoW) and even though they made it even easier with the latest content patches with a certain tool, i still found it far better to talk about a game in chat (channel or friends list) and have people join the game i create
i'm guessing there will be more filters to choose/create a game than there were in Diablo 2 and that overall the cooperative gameplay will be far more encouraged (not like have 3 different parties of 2 and one more somewhere else fighting something alone for the xp/loots).
It's just like like D2, but if 20~50 people limit per game and everything but town and PvP party-stanced. This way things work like D2 but with lower PvP limitations.
This or creat PvP rooms that allows alot of players.

Kiserai, let's not kid ourselves. You know you can PM me and any other staff member any time you need to. We're pretty much always on, and you've been around for years long enough to know that
Anyway, my opinion on this old subject: There should be enough slots to fit one of each character in each game.

A great game and my favorite system, good times. I think Diablo III is more dynamic than PSO, though, and so we should look at multiplayer cap from a different angle. The only limit we really have is effects blinding people on the screen, I think.

Huh? You don't need other players in GW.. It's only a luxury.
personally I think that we should have the choice for up to idk 8 maybe 6? I just have alot freinds that are gonna play and now I have to choose who i am and not gonna play with..... thats a problem if you ask me.

We can't even have the 5 classes together in the same game, woot!1
