As long as they bound gameplay elements to it I wouldn't mind, like certain mobs and events only happening when its day or night, but other then that it would be very pointless.
:thumbsup: I just registered for this site and that was one of the first suggestions I made. I should have seen this first. A 1/24 scale day to night cycle would be about right. 40 minutes of daytime, 20 minutes of night. There could be quests or events that are accessable by time of day, as well as having towns npc activity change throughout day and night.
It was in D2 so I don't see why they couldn't do it now. Simple things like this make the game world feel more real, and that's always good. I'd like to see different monsters at night, and different quests as you said.
Maybe certain areas could be 'unlocked' depending on the time of day. It would be good for keeping things fresh.

well i dont really remember, but all i could think of was the desert and kurast where it was sunny all the time, or raining and gloomy, it never changed..
but then again it has been several years sincevi played D2
