Stamina was pretty lame, but it did provide a challenge. Running away when overwhelmed by enemies is much harder if you are out of stamina. So it wouldn't be that bad to keep, maybe as a multiplayer-hardcore feature?
Stamina never ran out fast enough to be a challenge. Only was it challenging in the rare occasion a mosquito hit you in Kurast when you were fighting a lot of mobs. It was just an annoying thing to wait for when you were trying to go places.
the allocation was really really really easy for almost every char, about 20 into str, (depending on char and equip) many times 0 into str and the rest into vit. the only exception to the rule are melee chars might want to think about 20-50 into dex depending on equip
