And the 15 bucks a month for wow go towards better servers and the development on content. Why not pay and get regular updates on items, bosses, levels, etc instead of waiting months for the next patch
Because other companies do frequent updates without a fee. I really, really, don't feel like a few would help contribute to those sort of updates. I feel like the "M" rating is going to to do much more to keep little kids from the playing the games than anything else.
Plus it goes against most of my ethics, which i understand doesn't mean a damn thing to anyone else but me. But I do believe that you shouldn't charge people for anything that you don't need to.
For the most part, age can be a good way to determine maturity. Sure there are exceptions, but like I said a majority of kids are inmature. WoW is an example. Its crazy to believe that a monthly fee would not rat out atleast some of them. I dont mind paying a few bucks a month for a better gaming experience.

Im glad you don't mind, but others do.
The b2p system in Diablo works perfect. Same goes for games like Guild Wars as well. I would rather by my update in the form of an expansion anyways. Why? Cause an expansion gives you tons of content at one time for usually > $40 instead of paying 180 a year for some, most likely, relatively minor content add-ons. Not only that but you also need to remember that Blizzard has a lot more income than they did during Diablo 2. I think we can expect more updates, probably not content, but good updates none the less.
Once again they arn't required to add any of those things just cause we are paying. If you think that just casue we are paying monthly we should get new stuff then under that same logic you could say that they are obligated to do it anyway for making it online out of principle with no cost. Just cause thats what thay go to on WoW dosn't mean thats what have to go to in D3. I'm sure Blizzard wouldn't do that to us but it dosn't mean they can't.
"Sure there are exceptions." And your point behind that. So we should just trample all over the minority of the mature ones just cause they are a minority. Shouldn't we be encouraging the younger people by leading by example and not throwing hissy fits because of immaturity. It's really not they hard to deal with immature people online. Usually ingoring can go a long way. A mature person would most likely be able to handle themselves around immature people.
in the original post you talk about having a monthly fee without game card I don't mind paying but I don't have a credit card I find them too be too tempting and i simply don't want one being 19 year of age and working a full time job your reasons don't apply to me yet you suggestions still screw me over
Dude!! Stop busting his balls!! Some of us are in extreme situations. I moved out here to California to pursue my career in acting and modeling. I came with almost $7K. I am now $1900 in debt, and I am barely able to make my payments on my car and house that I'm renting with two friends. The payment is only $650 a month too!!
I am working anywhere from 40-50 hours a week at my job, and I am barely getting by. I would try to get another job, but then I wouldn't have any time to do my photo shoots or auditions.
I will probably be able to scrounge up the cash for the game, but for a monthly fee, I will just play single player.
Who the hell do you think you are? You come in here insulting someone and telling them how they need to handle their money. Screw you and go troll another forum.
Acting/modeling is not a money making career, it's a contract job where you can go months in a dry spell. Thats your fault for choosing such a way of life.
I'm someone who actually understands how to handle my money, I actually save money and don't spend it right when I get it. I have enough money in savings to last me 3-4 months if somethings happens. How you can work 40-50 hours a week, share an apartment with 2 friends and not have enough money left over is beyond me.
So lets say you get 9$ an hour. Thats 303.75$ for a 45 hour week with 25% taxed (don't feel like looking up California tax laws right now so i threw out a number which I'm sure is close if not higher). So you get 1215$ a month, and lets say 500$ goes to your apartment and 1/3 of the other bills associated with it since your 2 friends will be paying the other parts. You now have 715$ left. 150$ on food for the third of the food sounds about right for the month. Now you are at 555$. For some reason on such a low income you own a car and waste close to 300$ in gas for it +100$ for insurance per month. Now you are at 150$, Save that money and learn to manage it. There is never a reason to be in debt other than your own mistakes that you have made. For one, i'd say if you live within 15-20 miles of where you work, start riding a bike there. You obviously think you have enough money for gas so you should not be complaining. The only time when riding a bike isn't a viable form of transportation is during heavy rains and deep snow. Every other day a bike can be ridden.
There are plenty of ways that you can cut your budget and start living wisely. First of all, stop driving your car except when you need to, cut your insurance plan benefits, and don't waste money on things that you don't actually need. If you live in such a tight situation you should have other priorities other than thinking about playing video games anway.

Get a debit then. Thats what i have, its better than always carrying cash.

I'm sorry, that's how life is. The minority suffer for the sins of the majority. Its not fair, but sometimes it works.
i registered for this site for one reason. this thread. Its is ubsurd that blizzard would impose a monthly fee for the reason of which you say, "they need to"
-To keep the kids out?
Blizzard is a business, they are in the business of making video games. They profit from seeling the video games they make. Not in a million years would blizzard inforce a monthly to push away any particular group of poeple weither they are white, black, 13 years old, or alien to this planet. the more of those discs they sell the more money they make. period.
I have heard thier will not be a monthly but even if they do impose one, it will certainly not be becuase of your request.

i get paid 9 and hour and work 45 hours a week
its 340 a week in Louisiana.
Jesus christ, You DO realise there are people who actually dont have that much money to spare right?
Just becuase you have the money to pay for unnecessary luxuries in life doesnt mean the entire western world does too!
I don't waste money on unnecessary luxuries. I make mistakes here and there, but if I want to play a game that is pay to play I will have a monthly cycle which I can cancel at any time if something comes up. The way capitalism works is the harder you work the more you make. It just makes no sense to me why people won't strive to make more. Or you can be one of the few lucky blokes who had a rich family member and make a quick fortune, but usually when that happens those people are very bad with their money and in the end lose it all.
and there was apost a few pages back, stating you have no right to judge weither or not someone could or couldnt afford a particular leizure in life. so stfu. really. how wonderful your life must be that you were raised just perfect, knowing how and when to spend your money. give me a break.
servers would be better, updates would be better.
Kids will always be there. =(

Sometime? Regardless of whether it is "how life is" or if it sometimes works or not doesn't make it right or acceptable. Just because life can be hard and unfair dosn't give us excuse to trample all over others.

How is it trampling over people who arent even supposed to be playing the game in the first place.
The game is Rated M, no one under 17 is supposed to play it anyways so they cant bitch and complain if people try to make it to where they cant.
and like a said blizzard is a business, they are cerntainly not going to rule out any particular group of poeple just to make the experience alittle better for some others. they more they sell the more they make. why not do anything to get them out? becuase they lose business. thats called stupidity

If they didn't want to rule out a certain group of people they would not have made it rated M.

its like a cigarrette company, get them while they are young, i was playing diablo when most of the battle.net inhabitants were still running dial-up, i was 14. now ill play every blizzard title on the market.
