There will be no monthly fee, and it wouldn't keep the "kiddies" out.
How would they ruin your game on Battle.net where you make your own games and can password them? This isn't making much sense to me... It's not open world like WoW, have you played D2?
Blizzard actually updated D2 regularly but over time slowed down, which only makes sense. Eventually WoW will get to the same point, as with every other online game they are not going to support it forever.
The reason cheaters could not be stopped in Diablo II is not related to the game, it's Battle.net. WoW does not run on that old version of Battle.net like Diablo II does. Battle.net is not acting as the proper barrier it should be to protect the game. So, they would need to give Diablo II players a newer version of Battle.net.
Blaming it on the game is really stupid. If WoW could be played off-line, people could easily use all manner of third-party programs to mess with it. But, when it's on the net, Blizzard's online programs protect it from abuse. It's easy to circumnavigate static programs, but programs on the net are alive and constantly being fixed up.
4.I understand. But people pay a lot more for other recreational stuff. Instead of a case of beer play a game. Sacrifice going to a movie 1 night a month and have the money for it. Its not really sacrificing its just reorganizing your priorities.[/quote]
are u trying to say that a game is a bigger priority then social life?

If your saying that not going to a movie once a month is a big blow to your social life then you don't have one to begin with.
Considering that D3 is not an ever expanding world like WoW is, $15 would be overpriced. The most I would pay is $5 per month for an RPG of this nature. Even then, Blizzard is adequately positioned to host it for free.

And yeah, the initial reasons are just stupid.
And how are they stupid. Weekly updates to the game to make it more enjoyable and solid is stupid? Wanting to play with people that are actually mature is stupid?
I never said make it like wow. Please, point out where i said that.
Wait you cant.
So you want to charge for a fee for a game that doesn't even have the overhead costs that an MMORPG? I guess If I was blizzard I would consider it. I mean, c'mon. $15 a month, for free?
SHUT THE FUCK UP.
blizzard doesn't need your $15. If you feel like you NEED to give your $15 a month, www.kiva.org. Save for a year, and put it in there.
Your telling me you can not make or save 15 bucks a month to pay for it? I find that hard to believe for anyone. Millions of people are able to find way to play WoW. Where there is a will there is a way.
i'm telling you i can't save 15 bucks a month to play... i guess i could sip a meal but i'm goin to have to to do that just to buy the game inthe first place. works out though bc i won't be eating or sleeping that first week.

I look at the fact I paid $5 for runescape at one point and D3 > Runescape so therefore I would go up to 10 here is my little mathematical equation.

They are stupid because they don't make any sense, and don't work.
It's like saying "I'm hungry. I guess I'll go watch TV."

oh my god how about you read the entire thread so i dont have to defend myself on the same damn question 20 fucking times.
The M rating wont stop 14 year olds from buying the game. Never stopped me from buying mortal Kombat at 6. Obviously kids play WoW for other reasons but there's no way to stop kids from playing a game.
i have played diablo 2 for 6 years wow for 3 and i have a little brother who plays diablo 2, i dont think he is immature in any way and wow is a much different game than diablo (mmorpg) its just stupid to make diablo 3 pay-to-play, it is an rpg which is on battle.net, it is not one ghuge server everyone is on....

I would be willing to pay 3-10 dollars a month to get good updates. Maybe even more.
Kids deserve to play games too, but hopefully there will be mature gamers on battlenet this coming time.

$5 = Runescape
$15 = Wow
$5 < $10 < $15

Lol I'm not reading the entire thread. I don't need too. I'm just saying what I think and that's all that needs to be said.
