Hey Everyone.. I was just wondering, for a Thorn's Crusader to push solo Grift 60+, what is a good base number for your Thorns on your stat sheet? I havent seen anything referring to this yet... Im sitting at just above 210k base Thorns on my stat sheet... Any input would be greatly appreciated, thanks guys... Happy Hunting
210
is more than enough to solo 60+, even 65, if your other stats are up to
par (vit, str), and it's not just pure thorns from weapon gem and
legendary gem.
Interesting... I must be doing something very wrong than as while I do pretty alright even in gr52, gr54 is already all but impossible for me due to the lack of output damage.
Switching to Akkarat's shield actually turned out to be a downgrade (!) for me as far as damage output goes. Thanks to building around maximum block chance, though, my survivability increases greatly in this case.
And, yet, I do. It takes me 13 minutes to reach guardian on 54 - in a relatively good rift, at that.; fail outright if I have to deal with wasps and other annoying ranged mobs. Killing the guardian, though, is still relatively easy.
As for my gear,... Well, that Doombringer is pretty much the best weapon I have available right now, and I will need to do tons of farming before I can afford to roll legendaries in cube (again). And knowing how RNG likes me, it'll take no less than 10 attempts to get anything even remotely usable... Also, is there any other reason why Pig Sticker beyond it having 15-30% to human and beast enemies? I know that there is another dagger with five primaries.
The Endless walk set... Looted a single crappy ring so far. It'll need a total reroll before it can be useful. Haven't seen the amulet yet at all. As I've said, RNG just loves me, so (usually - once in a blue moon it is actually generous to me) it takes me a lot of time to gather the appropriate gear.
As for the hardcore thing... I think that the only places where I had my passive proc were the set dungeons when I did something stupid. Not willing to switch it for something else, though - it's better to be safe than sorry on Hardcore.
im going to go on a limb u may not have a good idea how to group mobs proper. also knowing what to waste time on. example. some blues are worst than champion packs. so dont waste 2 mins killing a group. get to champion packs and just kill the boss not the minions. grab orbs and go. faster weapon will help a ton. also if all else fails u have stats for what gets you where. look at the profiles of players on top of the ranks. good guides are everywhere. i have done a 74 so far and its all mob placement and getting what i like.

Ok, from my understanding from just this - You aren't optimizing your time. I read a guide, can't remember where it was from, on how to optimize rifting Time, and I was able to start saving 5+ minutes on GRs, no kidding - I likely would NOT have gotten solo GR 60 if it weren't for that guide in S4. GRs are all about knowing when to kill and when to skip.
Also, Hardcore - Rule of thumb, Hardcore characters will not be able to push as high as a softcore character just due to gearing. In Softcore, you can push as much damage as you can out, play it risky - A single death will barely set you back if the cause of that death was some sorta stupid ability combo (Frozen+Waller+Sentry+Molten, for instance), whereas in Hardcore people tend to gear so that they can pretty much take EVERYTHING thrown at them. Thus, if your sader was softcore instead, you would probably be anywhere from 5-10 GRs higher. (Yea, you would be struggling with 59 rather then 54)
So yea, read some guides on GR optimization, and remember that you won't be able to be as high as a Softcore character due to being hardcore.

Your gear is pretty good and could get much better if you do have an Akkarat's Awakening.
1) Start with running Blood Brother in the cube and switch back to Akkarat's Awakening. You will be block capped and gain a significant damage increase.
2) Bane of the Trapped is significantly better than Bane of the Stricken during the rift clear. BotT at level 25+ passively proc's itself and is a multiplier while other gems fall under additive damage. BotS is largely wasted considering Invoker's 6 set at your current GR level and gear. You will see significant improvement from your 2 set during the clear itself using BotT.
3) Pig Sticker is only 1 of 3 daggers that you can get from the cube recipe (Eun-jang-do is 2x rarer than Pig Sticker and The Barber). Even with bad luck it is still very easy to get it via the cube. It is very unlikely to take you more than 100 death breath to make one.
4) I understand your frustration about The Endless Walk set. It took myself over 500 paragon to receive my first Traveler's Pledge.

5) Hold Your Ground is way too strong to pass on. I would drop Fanaticism.

Sitting on 239k thorns with +57% physical and using hack (cubed).
