I think they should have a specie selection along with the class choice. Make it somewhat similar to World of Warcraft, like have 2 sides (dark, light). But to still have that Diablo "feel" have it still stuck in its 2-dimensional world.

I think you should be able to customize the look of your character. like if you pick a barb he should still be Bulky and have the muscle. but like change the facial features skin color etc. And i think itd be cool if there were like new types of weapons but still keep the old ones. yeah and i agree with tay too. different types of species would be pretty cool. Well ima go post some more
punisher, like i said in another post, that would be awesome to charactarize your person. i think u should also be allowed to be a creature, like, u could be a skeleton. or u could be blood raven, or any character who u kill, u can turn into them and gain their powers, the further u go, the more interesting the creatures to turn into.
As long as it plays like a Diablo game, I'm honestly not bothered. Just the feel of it is enough to keep me hooked for months, I wouldn't want it to be leaning too much towards WoW style however, an original game ain't gonna hurt them!
Diablo 2 isnt exactly 2d, the building and everything are 3d modeled, and then are previewed in only one direction. the characters and monsters for sure are 3d models
EDIT: heres a pic of a minion of destruction, they are quite nicely 3d modeled monsters.
Ya I hope they allow you to alter your characters appearance as far as skin goes anyway. So we can feel more like we are in the game. It would be great if they allow for adjusting hair, height, also but I don't expect it. Diablo is supposed to be fast combat and you really cant tell what peoples eye color or face looks like anyway.
But you would notice the skin, hair, height.
As far as body build goes a barbarian is supposed to be bulky, like a necro is skinny so no reason to alter that stuff
I think it would be aseome if after gain high enough levels your charcter class will change to something more powerful or at least another class name to show your strength,
also may be change classes by learning different skills and opening up new skill trees and such.
It would also be cool if they did not remove any of the classes from 2 keep them and add the new ones, like the necromancer
well..
I hope the witch doctor can raise an aseome army like the necromancer did in 2 I would hate to not be able to do that.
love the new idea which the health orbs and this game looks beautiful so I can't wait for it to come out.
All diablo fans and the people working for diablo have my love and biggest thanks

Species?
If you want that stick to WoW.
Blizzard has different games for different types of players which suits the individuals wants/needs.
There's no need for Diablo to have different species (playable) classes.
I for one, do NOT want to see species in Diablo III.

Vampires anybody?
Vampire.
That was for Necromancers, wasn't it?
And besides.. that is still human.
It's a sub-human category I think.
Same as for Werewolf and Werebear.
(except these two were available through skills the Vampire was not)
I wouldn't mind to see shape shifting used in Diablo III.

Also, Diablo III will be 3d Iso.

I really wouldn't be too opposed to them changing the game to first person. 2D does kind of limit the progress the game can make.
EDIT: heres a pic of a minion of destruction, they are quite nicely 3d modeled monsters.

I never knew that they'd put so much effort into it!
