I came back to ROS when 2.3 went live, and i have had been playing a lot, enjoying it pretty good too. As i leveled and geared out each toon for seasons though, after awhile i get the feeling of burned out or bored. I mean sure there's always achievements, conquests or pushing the leaderboards, and to some that may be enough to keep them playing
For me though, once i got 4 toons all mostly ancient gear in whatever build that proved to be the best or able to reach gr60, and cruise through t10, i just have lost interest more and more. Its the nature of this type of game, you either are in for the grind and long haul or you do everything up front and then taper off and i think my time is here to just move on for awhile again. I love the game, and have since classic launch (oh what a joy that was...)
So I'm sure some of you are bored, there's literally nothing to do except grind more paragon levels, for that 1% gain in gear as you shard everything else, even deaths breaths i have 1000's of, and that's after i can pretty much level a fresh toon and gear them for t10 within hours, hell my barb i never did a single rift, went from rares to t10 farming in my first rift (thanks to the cube)
Maybe its because its so easy to gear now, gear with the cube makes it so insanely easy, and then shards, and t10 dropping tons of legendaries, once you get a end game build with 3-4 toons, what else is there? the endless grifts for nickel and dime upgrades, the legendary gems
i hope there's big news come blizzcon, I'm going to take a break for a bit, probably head to sc2 for a bit with its expansion next month, i guess its time for a change of games, i see no point in the current d3 game to continue farming more paragon, i've cleared 60, and t10 easy mode on 4 toons, i'm at the end of a few months worth of farming and what not, i guess now is a good time as any.
So who else is bored or changed games? who's sticking it out? is there enough content to keep playing currently?
Ive been bored for the past 3 weeks, ive gain around 40 paragon lvls this month
Eventually you reach a point where you have to do higher gr's that you have to fish. All my gems are 55+, even my mulilation guard gem (the new useless one) is lvl 55. There is nothing to do aside grind a few paragons.
I have near perfect gear. Only thing left for me to do is just grind paragons since that's the only way I'll gain more DPS and achieve a higher tank on leaderboards. It does get boring since leveling and gearing as become so easy with 2.3. I think Blizz is focusing on catering D3 to casuals that will play D3 for a couple weeks and move on. I wouldn't be surprised if they announce some new feature that makes things even easier.
Not really. Like Arcstar, I play hardcore, so there's always that to keep me motivated. Aside from that, I'm still fairly new to this game, so I'm not even close to reaching the torment X (playing in torment 1 and 2 right now) stuff. Much more stuff for me to do.
This game revolves around seasons and Blizzard is okay with it (should be a blue about it somewhere). I think it's a okay design, makes you play the game intensely in the beginning and after a while you reduce your activity and eventually stop playing. You then take a break and regain your hype-levels so that you can wreck the next season. Pauses are good, puts things in perspective and you'll get a time to regain energy.
OT:
I'll be bored soon, just want to get at least para 800, 1000 would be the dream but I don't think I'll farm that! I'll be super pumped when the next season hits though
I have also stop playing now. I tried like a hero to find a good group of players to speed GR65+ for more paragons, but nobody wanted my WD in their party, even tho i went dart in the end. Its all about monk and barbs in season 4. My fun was the WD helltooth set, but it has no place in the meta. After failing to find a good group and the will to not change char to monk or barb, i simply quit and have not played it again for the last week. I did solo GR65, i gained about 850 paragon and i lvl my gems to 70. I cubed every item i could get my hands on as a WD and i got most of my gear on WD to be ainchent. I completed the season journey and i put in about 260 hours worth of gameplay making this season the most successful season so far in my d3 career.
I would probably double the time spend in season 4, if i could find a good group to play with or even better, if i could continue solo without being punished for it. It would also help if i could continue to play the spec i enjoy the most in group or solo. The way is see it, paragon points is waay to important to ignore and i would request a cap for future seasons for the improved quality of competition and longevity of the gaming experience. I would also request it to take longer to complete the sets for meta gameplay. I had full set after 2 or 3 days in season 4, making torment 1-6 a utter joke to play. I spent hardly no time in t3,4,5,6,7 and 9. The torment used was t1,2,8 and 10. I am sure that if it takes longer to gear up, i would spend more time in the game every season.
A quality of life improvement for me would be a change to the legendary gem system. I hate to lvl the same type of gem over and over for use on other classes. a cube like system would be preferred, where u pick ur gem from a list and where u only upgrade the same type once. this would also free up more space in the stash.
So overall for me, season 4 was very good, awesome set for my WD, loved the new place "The ruins of Sescheron", loved the cube, enjoyed the season journey alot. And best of all, really, was the removal of trials !!! Thank you for this awesome patch Blizzard.

Something you must do wrong since WD is the current meta for main DPSer ... I love them and I see them throwing HOTA out of the meta. Static and dart are becoming the new meta. WD insane. Last 10 group setups i played on randomly all had WD as DPS... we did from 67-72
Indeed you must be doing something very wrong, my GF plays wd for a long time and it has never been this good, my main is wizard which is clearly not that good this patch and we still manage to clear 70's. Helltooth is very powerful IF played right, besides it's not like it is as hard to play as tal'rasha wds got it easy ^^.

Not bored/burned at all. Multiple specific reasons thouhg for this:
- great fan of the franchise, would still probably play it even if it was bad
- i just like farming the same stuff over and over, it relaxes me
- i don't have much time to actually play so the current season journey is filling completely my free time (i mean 1 hour session more or less and not every day).
I suppose that if i played nonstop for 1 month doing speedruns i would be bored too.

I would like to add that i dont have any issues clearing 70+ rifts in party. I have a problem finding a stable party/group/clan to play with. For last two weeks i played, i spent alot of time searching for party, since i dont have any real life friends that play this game. However, i only a got a few requests with random groups and it got boring and tedious very quickly. I also spent a fair amount of time searching in forums for players aswell, with no fair luck of finding the group i wanted. So clearly, i dont do anything wrong, i simply had no luck finding the group for me. :/
Kimmen85@ I am stuck like you, this is my first season, i already completed my journey but my main has no place in meta it seems(unless you have good friends). The focus on paragon as the only way to improve is something i honestly don't enjoy at all. I am way more fan of gearing up and item finder but this in D3 is so easy that you have no chance to have fun doing it.
The last time i had fun was leveling my hardcore character and helping a guildie to get geared.
Now my last chance is to make a support monk and see how fun it is.
