So latest Witcher 3 expansion introduced Runewords into game, and its freaking awesome!
it works same as in diablo 2, only here you can put runewords into both weapons and chest armor, they consume 3 sockets and give you amazing stuff.
You need to find those runes or to pay up a large sum of gold for them, depending on its strength.
Wish diablo 3 had that element. Maybe one day, i would gladly socket runewords than emeralds, rubies, and topaz and other gems, and search for those runes too.
I think that balancing would be the biggest factor for anything new added to the game. On that note, I never remember hearing anyone complain that OrbSorc was the best farmer or that SmiterDin was hands down the strongest character in the game. I honestly feel sorry for the D3 team, as they constantly try to tailor this game to a bunch of spoiled children and instead of gratitude the fans find something new to complain about. Be glad they aren't charging you monthly or providing top-tier gear for real money. Honestly the game is fucking brilliant and every new feature added is exciting. You may think you're at your end-game but there will be more features to keep you enticed, but all in due time. Be patient, enjoy the game, and shut the fuck up
D2 is a bot-fest. I didn't mind following the awesome hammerdin bots into a Baal run but now it's just add bots in every game. Its ridiculous. And yeah, I think in my whole time of playing I only ever farmed 1 hr. I got lucky and got a 20/20 torch and traded it for 40hrs. At least I think that was how I got them, so long ago now, I traded something for 40hrs anyway. I stopped playing when I traded for 7 trap gcs, got a friend to hold them and he stole them. God I love shared stash in D3
The fucking asshole didn't even have an assassin I thought I should. Some people are just pricks because they can be. Those people should kill themselves
What I have gathered recently is no matter what Blizzard will do or not do with the game someone is going to be criticizing it. Recently I saw a bunch of posts along the lines of "Diablo 3 is too much like Diablo 2" and then I come to threads like this one and its "Diablo 3 is not enough like DIablo 2".
This season I got my HoTa build and cleared GR-60,then i realized from now on i have to fish for rifts, wait for the same items as mine to drop with 1% more damage and turning all other items into mats. I also did the season journay.
I really need long term goals to keep me playing.
Granted, you're about 99% done with your HotA-Barb, now you can play WW-Barb, Rend-Barb and 5 more classes. That's the Diablo franchise, kill the same mobs in a million different ways. There is no long-term relationship with your main char like in an mmo.
The second latest season in d2, I used 4 days to farm an enigma.
Zod would take substantially longer, but not more than a month.
You farmed that or was there trading involved?
Anyway, I think the rune system of D2 would be perfectly fine if it ended at something around Vex (rune 26 of 33). From memory I'd say, that was a little rarer than today's Ramalandis, which is fine for an endgame drop. The runes beyond that were way too rare. You'd maybe see one of them in a lifetime.
there is no balance in D3.... they need to lower the damage and take out torment levels.. make it 3 difficulties like in d2... this torment x is stupid. i am sure the next season im sure they will add a torment XV. d3 doesn't need that shit. make it simple devs... also they need to add runewords that was a huge part of D2... shit i would even say they need to bring the druid back to D3.. like that was a awesome class to play... they should just have a normal, nightmare, and a hell mode like in diablo 2. make hell mode really difficult, where you actually need good gear to run it instead of just having a below avg set ..

I farmed it without any botting or trading involved, and maybe 6-8 hours play each day farming countess and a handful hellforges. Got tons of lower midrange runes, and a lucky ist/vex every now and then to cube.
The system wasnt perfect by any means, and quite dull to farm, but it wasn't really as hard as many describe it to be. I also got lucky and got both Ber and Ohm drop from Nhitlak farming for keys. In the end I found the hunt for the perfect superior socketed items to use the runes on much more tiresome.
D3 game design is flaw. It is base on DPS. So all bet are off unless you have a high DPS weapon. That's why every new patch/season, you get higher and higher multipliers. This is why you have all these cookie cutters build. The weapon and set determine the skills.
For example: Helltooths limit you with acid rain if you have the staff and ZB if you have the spear.
Old sets are useless because their multipliers are not high enough.

Runewords, with the d2-model, was very awesome indeed.
Sadly Blizzard did not parse the feedback on them properly, and they chose to not implement them in D3.
The problem in D2 was how they were by far the most powerful gear you could get. (a balance issue)
They neglect how the runeword system provided a "long-term" goal to work towards, and with that added some longevity.
Either this is just to satisfy the need for instant-gratification for the facebook-generation of gamers, or the D3 devs share their views.

I actually liked Baal and Mephisto runs with my Sorc, made me feel special.
