Depends on how you approach the game. For a lot of players the point of the game is to progress. Now with the 2.3 patch they made it so easy that after a week most competent players are doing the high level GR's with maxed out gear. But it shouldn't come to anyones surprise. I'm not sure with blizzards limited resource to this game, that the D3 team can do much more than they have. Introduce the cube as well as new sets to try and make more builds and combinations available has helped diversify high level competetive builds. Which is what people wanted. It will probably keep most players happy for a while but some part of the playerbaseyou just can't satisfy. They progress to the highest level as fast as possible then get bored cause there is not more to do.
That's just how it is. Most games are not meant to be played or last forever. That's why they have seasons - but it's really hard to guard against the hardcore players who play 24/7 the first week playing 120% optimal to reach endgame.
Did I say endgame? I must be dillusional. There is no endgame in D3, the endgame is paragon farming for more mainstat.
If that's your goal in this game, I can understand why you get bored fast. To enjoy this game I believe you need to look elsewhere than just solo'ing for a high GR.
Yes, to be honest not sure the point of leaderboards. Diablo for me has and will be a game about finding loot and killing monsters. The issue I have is exactly what Paradoks said. the said the end game is to farm more paragon. While this might be the truth, this is not and was not what Diablo was all about.
Blizzard screwed up when they first released this game with the AH, the AH caused drops to be crafted around it, after all Blizzard went the greed route. Once blizzard fixed and removed the AH this left people who I assume is a younger crowd complaining drops were hard.
Fast forward. Kala, Cube, Mystic these are all thing that were added to the game to make the instant gratification group happy. Sorry, I prefer the past in this aspect.
I think Blizzard in the right way addingand balancing skills and sets. At some point ALL sets gonna be equal and compatetive. When it happen new exp come out hopefully and change stuff like adding more single player challenges or new game modes.
Personally, I think the rate of progression is way too fast nowadays. But on the other hand I play so casually that it fits my play style just right.
Agree.
And to me it's fine the way the game goes, it's still fun to me... and dude.. if you lose interest, just try another game, or a book, or some interactive movies (cof cof xvideos cof cof...)

The patch was great, but im back in the same place i was before patch. Fishing for a rift with proper mobs and map layout.
Getting ghosts and exorcists on the a5 tunnel map is pretty annoying.
Cant play multiplayer because of lag, did a 4man last night and was at 12fps.
Losing interest again
Oops, Fishing for rifts
Question; Do you think the only point of Diablo 3 is placing on the leaderboards?

Aah the good old rate of progression debate.
Here we go again
