Does anyone know how convention of elements work on a templar?
The affix says "rotates through the elements available to your class". Since followers are seen as a different party member (skull grasp does not buff your WW damage, followers do not proc tal rasha meteors), I would expect COE to rotate through the followers available elements?
While the templar his skills say "weapon damage", in game skills that mention weapon damage are handled as physical (Rend for example). People also used to put physical on his soj, lidless wall, amulet when they were going for dps templar, but that might have been for the bul kathos wedding band and not his skills?
This would make all the templar skills being physical only, and should make COE "rotate" only through physical. So, with a perfect 200% roll, that should triple your templars damage (without any other elemental rolls)?
Same would go for enchantress with arcane (her skills actually say arcane). Scoundrel has "weapon damage"(=physcial?), poison and arcane, so does not apply to him.
I know that having a lightning damage roll on his weapon procs wyrdward ring, so maybe you need a non-elemental or physical roll on his weapon to really tripple his damage? Or the ring would cycle through all elements because the weapon can change the element and the templar has all elements available? Or since he is a form of crusader, he might have the same 4 elements available as the crusader?
Anybody tried this? Does the ring work all the time, only a percentage (and how often) or not at all?
I will test this out a bit tomorrow if nobody comes up with an answer, but did not want to test things other people already did.

Hey, how'd that test go? I'd incidentally like to know as well.
Still have to test, didn't have the time and ring
