I really, really really hoped for this in 2.2. I wanted to do some high grifts with the new wizard and dh sets but I can't stand doing the higher trials, this game is supposed to be something I do after work and not be worse than work itself. Trials are so terrible it hurts even talking about them and how they didn't change them for what, like 8 months till now? So basically a year because 2.3 won't be coming for at least 4 months. But of course better late than never.
Please post a link that works or type down the name of the broadcast or the episode number something.
It's working fine from my end. Anyone else having issues with the link?
It's a good conversation about the nuts-n-bolts of Grifts and Trials, how the idea was iterated from community feedback about "Bottomless Dungeons", and the "downstream effects" they're having internally with trials already removed for them (blizzard in-house testing). Well worth the watch IMO.
I fixed the link for you ruksak, it wasn't working at first
Ahhh......the issue was, sometimes when you right-click on your post-field to 'paste', somehow it's not recognized as the proper field and there is no 'paste' option. Reloading the page didn't work, nothing worked. Some kind of error with the forum software.
I typed it in manually and forgot to check it.
My apologies, I had to run the trash out right after posting and I didn't check my link as I usually do.
Aaaaand, we will see posts saying that Trials are/were the best thing in Diablo 3 and devs are retarded to remove them!
lol......if I see one more "Bring back Diablo Vanilla" post at Bnet, I swear I'm gonna go full hamster and stuff my jowls with my own feces out of panicked frustration.
At 01:17:00 or so he says that they are also removing perma CC (wd fear).
He does say later on that they'd probably do other adjustments mainly reduce incoming damage to help players because of the removal of perma CC, they don't want to nerf everyone without enabling us to clear high GR or higher as was previously possible.

...and I'm OK with that. Because the trajectory that the responses from Blizz concerning Trials was taking, it seemed as if they were going to "fix" them several more times before killing the idea.
I've said it for months, there is no fixing trials but to remove them entirely.
This is a re-make of this thread in PTR forums, which had about 300 replies or so and 350 likes. I think in both threads there were less than 1% of "pro trial posts", and they changed their mind after we discussed the pros and cons. No one likes trials. They're just bad. Of course the new system needs to be good enough to replace trials and there might be edge cases, but for those of us who've done literally thousands of trials and are only blocked in progress further because of trial issues (we cleared a GR63 in under 10 minutes but have a hard time getting GR64+ keys, what da fuck?) this is the best change ever.
Well, i'm just playing on and off and i can clear solo 42-43 comfortably and when i do trials i get between 39-42 depending on.... something
Sure, i'm not spamming them and i only care about leveling up new gems for new DH builds (thanks god for this patch) and i'm sick of trials sooooo much, i can only imagine a dedicated GR runners like you can feel.
It's not about solo, you can get any solo key by doing groups (which is stupid, but okay). The problem is that to beat the highest 4 player rift you don't need the best performance in GRs, but even more important is to min/max everything in trials. Which is stupid and defeats the purpose. Sure, you can play up keys but once you get to 65+ or higher you'd need 2-3 dream rifts in a row which just isn't happening...
Oh my god I'm so happy about this news, I wish they'd just bring 2.3 to live tomorrow, just end era 3/season 3, couldn't care less
Yeah, but since i don't cheat the system like that, i care about my playstyle
Sure, i could go group trials, get a key i can not complete solo unless dream GR, as you called them and nailed the problem, and level up my gems that way, but this is another kind of issue.
I listened further to the podcast, and Wyatt talked about this speaking of starting a GR from your last best, but he aknowledged that you can clear higher GR in group than solo; will you start from your 4 men best and just grave zerg the dungeon and still be able to level up your gem? It's a good question and personally i would just split keys based on the number of players that did the trial (or start from the best GR completed based on that number) but it's a bit clunky i admit <_<'
We can only wait to see how this thing develops in the future, at least they are still listening to our constructive bitching XD
Seriously, once you got started, trials were useless. Coulndt see why a tonn that successfully cleared a level 45 grift needed to go do trials all over.
99% of the community: Yeah! At last! (btw how come that removing trials from the game is so much more exciting than devs adding something to it?)
'But now whenever you start a greater rift it will start from lv1 and only advance one level at a time. We think this solution will help the system judge the player skills in a better way and also appreciate the skill needed to advance to higher levels.'

@1:07:00, confirmed by Wyatt Cheng himself.
Interesting discussion here concerning the issues they're having.

Edit: Cool thanks for sharing.
Awesome! Finally. Get that internal build up for us players asap

Well, this is good to know, however let's see how fast and in what way it will be implemented.
It could happen that people will cry, "Give us trials back". Depends on the implementation.

Maybe for 2.3? I think they said perma fear wasn´t gonna make it for 2.2 but for next patch.

community: Wait what.
No. Take solace that they're not telling us they're "fixing" trials *soon. I would imagine thy're aiming for 2.3 at Season 3's end.
