A couple of ideas I had to make the game a little better. Happy to hear thoughts on these, and any others.
1. It would be nice when something drops (eg jade harvester gloves) that I may already have but the new item has slightly better stats, that I can give my old gloves to players in the game that I'm already in. It would be nice to be able to share gear a bit more.
2. I would like to be able to custom the loot drops to classes. Eg I have a fairly good wd but would like to build out my other classes i.e. effectively farm higher torment level but target my legendary drops to say barbarian.
3. I like ring of royal grandeur as much as the next person but I dislike it when a piece of equipment becomes a must have. It also removes the benefit from some of those 2 set ring pieces.
4. I've picked up almost every gem dropped but I simply dont have enough topaz to build out my wizard and wd. I'd like to either be able to buy them from Shen, have the drop rate increased or something...
5. Golden chests have become ho hum. There used to be such excitement when I saw one but now they drop maybe 2 yellow and a gem. It would be nice to see a lot more gold and more legendarys come from them. At the moment, when I get a leg from a normal chest, I feel a bit cheated especially after I maybe killed an elite pack for a yellow item.
6. I saw another post about some shrines being useless and I agree particularly around magic find. Increased Magic Find is great but it needs to be buffed to the extent that say killing an elite pack while active, has a high chance of a leg drop for 2 or so players in a 4 player game.
7. New Shrines: Goblin packs are great so a goblin shrine that spawns 5 or more of them at once would be pretty cool. But more goblin packs in general would be great. It's hard to kill them all but so much fun when you encounter them.
8. Other new shrine ideas include an elite pack or uber set; sometimes when I play no-one has nemesis equipped so a shrine that gives us that would be great... and ubers rather than elites would be great (and if touch them while you have nemesis on you get a double pack).
That's enough of the top of my head, except to add could I please have a thunderfury, a SMK or a Rehko Flayer... my sunseeker is cool but different weapons to change setups now and then keeps the game fresh
Agree with most of them... I'll reply to the first point in the end, though.
2) Yeah, I personally don't care, but this came out a couple of times and at this point I wouldn't mind if it becomes available. In my opinion you should have to play the class you want to gear (minus the 15% non-smart loot), but I wouldn't care if something different would be implemented. Note that Kadala does this to some extent already (just switch to the other character for gambling).
3) Absolutely agreed. The RoRG is too much of a must-have item now for all classes and specs. Not sure how to solve this though.
4) Again, agreed. Would be nice if I could convert three gems of one kind into one different type, like in D2.
5) Golden chests are awesome. In T5 rift runs in full groups at least one of us almost gets at least one legendary whenever we open a Resplendent Chest. Seriously, Resplendent Chests are fine. If they'd be a bit better people would go back to "chest farming".
6+7+8) Let's be honest, most shrines and pylons are useless. I want Empowerment Shrine or Conduit, Channeling, Power Pylon. Every other shrine/pylon is completely "meh" and not even worth waiting for your team mates. They should get rid of some of them and bring back some of the D2 shrines (gem shrine or monster shrine to name two examples). Right now shrines are just there to spawn an additional elite ;-)
So, back to the first item...
1) This is a nice idea, but it would be terrible if implemented. In the end, you can "unbind" a specific item from your account and trade it to someone else, which opens up trading with all its drawbacks: the good items are not taken out of the economy, which means that the game has to drop less of those to not flood the economy. Not sure how exactly you want to see this implemented, but however you do this - people will find a way to exploit this. I like that right now Diablo 3 has no economy. And I hope it stays that way.
I suppose, in the end Bagstone would be right. The best possible implementation I could think of (in these 2 minutes that I have spent on it) is that once a certain legendary drops, say Thunderfury, that would make all Thunderfurys on that account tradeable to the other 3 players in the game for the regular 2 hour window. That would only work if they share some kind of ID and are not totally independent of each other. The game has to know which items to flag.
HOWEVER I already have an exploit for even that, it's complicated, but you could do this: Player A (seller) wants to sell 3 Thunderfurys to B, C and D and so he plays with them until he gets one. Once he gets one, he could give all of his TFs away.
Not efficient, sure, but still more than I would like to see. I also like the self-found approach
I'd like to see a pylon that spawns a npc pack, say 5 wolves/zombie dogs/Gargs/ghosts/chickens/the barb ancients, a slew of fetishes, or a pack of skeletons, could be anything already in the game, even your own shadow selves like when fighting Diablo, all with the intent of helping the duration of the timer.
Would love a pylon that spawns goblins all over the place, again for the duration of the timer, no teleporting away, just fade after the timer expires.
Would love the old gem pylon, upgrade a gem/gems ( dang expensive the upper ones are).
Here's a completely off the map idea, group is all transformed into Archons for the duration of the timer, kinda a variant of the Conduit theme?
Off the wall, a pylon that spawns forgotten souls all over the ground, or even 5 random chests. It's really limitless from where I see it.
