It sure seems like Diablo 3 has at minimum a 5 hour maintenance every week. am i wrong or am i right? not to mention a new exploit about every week or lag issues or even disconnection issues. I've personally just about had it. i have disconnected at least 15 times in the past 2 days and left legendaries just laying on the ground and i am sure many peoples hardcore characters have died. But sure that is to be expected right? i mean, Diablo has only been around for over ten years but i guess that is not enough time to even remotely fix their problems.

You're wrong.
Blizzard has certainly reduced the amount of maintenance we've seen recently. They wouldn't be doing maintenance on a Thursday unless it was necessary. Remember, it costs them money to do this and it pisses off the players. There's no way anyone could believe that they're doing it for sport. There's a reason for it. End of story.
Is it annoying that we have to endure maintenance twice in a week? Of course.
I can only assume, from the fact that you registered an account here to post this whine, that you just got banhammered on the official forums for trolling?
Why would be be banished? For posting his frustration? If that was bannable the internet would be almost empty.
I was kinda thinking this was getting a little silly to. I really don't think maintenance windows have been reduced. Cite some numbers if you can. I can be proved wrong. But it seems like being down for this many hours every week (8 min, and obviously sometimes more) is a bit much. I don't see a reason not to have a thread discussing it.
I'm going to post two good quotes from another QQ maintenance thread that happened yesterday.
First Quote:
"I understand some people are not in IT, so they don't understand the reason for maintenance. Simply put, sometimes admins need to do work to keep the environment working or to change code/settings that don't directly relate to the function of the application. This is okay. This reason, as well as content releases, are why they have a weekly maintenance window. If they do not have anything that must be done (or something isn't ready for release), then they can choose not to utilize the window that week.
In short, there is absolutely no need to rage about a long maintenance that didn't release content. There are plenty of other things that you can during that time that can be productive or related to Diablo (research new build/gear combos, etc.). Just let Blizz do the work they need to do so they can prepare for the next content release."
Second Quote:
"Yeah OP lets not pretend you know everything that goes into maintaining and running multiple servers. Trust me it's not as straight forward as you might think. They didn't drop a ball on anything. If they deem it necessary having the servers shut down for 8 hours then it was obviously necessary, there is no conspiracy behind this.
Stop feeling entitled to anything just because you paid a small fee for their game, if you don't enjoy it and think it's fail simply play something else, take your GF to dinner, read a book, go outside or whatever make you enjoy life and your freetime.
It's in Blizzard best interest to make a good product and satisfy as many fans and customers as possible, anything else makes no sense."
Server maintenance is a part of life for any online game, so it's just best to let the maintenance ride and pick back up where you left off. (I know a lot of people will read that sentence and start asking for an offline mode, but Blizz will not let that happen. Online allows them to gather information on player usage for future balancing efforts and protects their software from piracy.)
You'd swear this was the end of the world for the OP. OMG NOT 5 WHOLE HOURS A WEEK!!???!?! That only gives you 163 hours to play the game till the next maintenance! OMG!

Is it the end of the world? Not even close.
