i got my crusader to 1.2m dps, 14m toughness and i was feeling the same pain. It felt like everyone else was getting so many more browns, and all the ones i did get were very sub par.
Id suggest rerolling a different class. every time i start playing a new class i feel the browns raining down. Dont feed him gear from another class and it feels super rewarding to be gaining a whole ton of upgrades again.
Two of my friends just quit playing because I kept finding decent items, where as they found either nothing or useless plans. I found it really funny. Just now I gambled a http://us.battle.net/d3/en/item/jekangbord that rolled fairly well, and then after clearing a rift I found http://us.battle.net/d3/en/item/defender-of-westmarch with good stats, and rerolled 9% crit chance on my first try. I also found a bottomless potion of Kulle-aid. But yeah, RNG is RNG.
20 rifts, 6-12 hours a day? 20 rifts is like a one full day of gameplay, stop lying to people.
Just because you're horribly slow doesn't mean everyone are. If I were to do 20 T1 rifts in my current gear, I'd be done in less than 4 hours (~10 min max per rift). Remember, he might not be playing HC, which means his output is way higher than yours =P
Yes, you gotta stay strong when RNG isn't in your favor.
I found a crapload of good stuff on release day, but nothing since then. For almost ~10 days I only got small sidegrades, but no real upgrades; I was at ~50 Forgotten Souls. Was close to giving it a break as well... and then... on Friday... RNG turned around. Found my perfect dream Andy (arcane dmg, IAS, CC, int), got a perfect Triumvirate from Jamoose, found Firebird's pants (that I gave back to him), and the best thing was: a Mirrorball. That lucky streak brought back my motivation for quite some time. But yeah, it was tough sometimes. At some point I turned off "items" in clan news because I couldn't take it anymore...
20 Rifts is like 2-2.5 hours. Just because you're slow/inefficient doesn't mean everyone else is.
I've played over 110 hours on my crusader now, completed 271 rifts, and collected 14000 shards.
I haven't found a single set item for my class (3 for other classes). However players claiming they go 3+ hours without legendary is just plain bullshit, ever since the buff I average 1-2 legendaries per rift (T1-2). Occasionally I have one without but that's one rift, not 3 hours of gameplay.
Sorry faesrollvtwo, but there is no reason to call people liars. I personally went a bit over 2 and half hours without legendary few times, but usually its one legendary every 90 minutes (on average).
Good for you that you average 1-2 lege per rift, that means you get around around 10-20 per hour or what? I find that super hard to believe. I am happy if I get one legendary per 10 rifts and it takes me around 8-10 minutes to clear rift on T2.
If what you say is true tho, then this game needs some major fixing. Difference between people with "bad luck" and lucky ones is just too huge.
Think its just human nature to notice the bad luck and ignore the good. Most people are actually getting upgrades all the time, its just that they are expecting to win the lottery everytime a legendary drops or they so much as login. Its just RNG
Not in my case for example. All of my items are from first 3 days of RoS, except the offhand and neck (friend gave me neck, yelow neck with almost perfect rolls across the board). Didnt get single upgrade since then.
Cleared about 20 rifts yesterday and had 12 legendaries drop. 1 set belt (blackthorne). Hate to say it but rng is rng. Just keep playing and you will see better days.
Don't you guys feel that the gap between the lucky and the unlucky is too huge? There should be some middle ground or separate option for the players that will NEVER find a set item / decent legendary.
And just because one person finds legendarys every hour doesn't mean the other person does too...
I know several players who find good items every day, and I know other players (who just quit) who grind hours and hours a day and never found anything even remotely decent.
To me it just seems like the more casual players get more loot pr hour played. It's like blizzard is trying to lure them in with some candy to get them to play more. But they steady 6+ hours pr day guys only get the leftovers cause they know they will come back for more no matter how crappy their loot is. I bet there is some blizzard employee sitting there watching us running around for days without finding a single upgrade laughing his ass off. 124 hours played and 297 rifts cleared on my Crusader and the only class set item i've found is a pair of demon hunter shoulders. I bet that Blizzard employee was enjoying himself when he decided to give me that piece of garbage. These are the kind of conspiracy theories that come to my mind when farming for days without getting any rewards for my hard work.
Oh and seriously Blizzard 25% of nothing is still nothing so give rifts a real buff instead of a tiny tweak to get people off your back for a few days.

Dude.. I'm normally one of the biggest "play however you want to play" guys.
But seriously.. RoS has been out for 12 days. To, within the space of 12 days, havespent 124 hours just pure farm-grinding on a single character does not sound healthy to me.
p.s. please tell me that all 297 of those rifts were done at Torment since you're complaining about a lack of class set pieces?

No, I don't, for several reasons. One of which is that people always over-exaggerate when it comes to these sort of situations. I'm not saying the OP is, but most people do. Another is that regardless of how many people complain on these or the official forums that's still an extremely small sample size to compare. Especially when you consider that people who have no reason to complain typically have no reason to post about it, and is why the majority of posts you see will be complaining. To claim that there's no middle ground is a bit foolish when you look at the overall picture. There is a middle ground, you're just choosing to ignore it.
Probably 95% of them are t1 or higher indeed. Vacations are for having fun right? I enjoy playing games not going to the beach or some other crap so I spend them inside playing games.

my characters aren't even very well geared and I've gone an entire week without finding a single item that I didn't end up salvaging, and I've only found 2 set items since RoS launched, one was a BT duncraig cross which was instantly salvaged and another was a half decent pair of akkhan boots

The key words being "single item that I didn't end up salvaging." If that's a complaint, then... sorry, but you're still finding legendaries and that's better than some people. Besides, bad legendaries = forgotten souls = improved legendaries that you already have.
Personally, as long as I'm not sitting around doing nothing or just piddling about, I find plenty of legendaries... especially now with the rift buff. I have a strong feeling that those with the low rate of legendaries are probably inept at proper play or proper farming and are simply making poor use of their time.
I've been grinding since patch 2.0 anywhere from 6 - 12 hours a day and have NOT found a single set item. I repeat 0 set items.
On a daily average I find one (horrible) legendary or legendary plan every 2-3 hours of consistent T1+ grinding.
The majority of the few legendaries I've managed to find are horrible 2 handers and badly rolled rings.
Any one else here experiencing the disappointment / bad RNG?

keep going and things will come, RNG is fair, in long term.
do some bounty runs if u tired of rifting, bounty have good drops too
