Anyone else got this feeling, stuff like nemesis bracers, homing pads, trag'ouls coils that you basically equip when you do a certain action but otherwise just leave in ure inventory it's just like an awkward charm. It's not a big deal, it's just a slight annoyance and if there gonna make stuff like this that you just hold in your inventory and equip when u click a shrine why not just make it's effect work from the inventory for just you know quality of life sort of thing?
I dunno, I just don't see the logic in creating items which are so clearly abusable just by equipping them when u find a shrine or are gnna TP and not just making there effect work from the inventory...
Are you really bitching about the 1 second it takes to hit your inventory to swap out your shoulders so you port without worries?
Please stop me from unleashing an ungodly flamestorm at your lazy ass, you didn't get shit for legs pre RoS, so shut just up and enjoy your bonus effects.

so ure saying you wouldn't prefer they act like a charm instead of needing to equip them?
It doesnt bother me but it would be nice of the bracers could work from inventory
this is my point, it's not a huge issue just a quality of life change. I mean if there gonna do charms, do charms these half in half out sort of things just seem a little silly.
I think he's trying to say be happy with the game we have now. RoS is 100 times better than vanilla. Maybe they will do something like that or maybe they won't. But as long as I'm finding legs that aren't complete trash like they were in vanilla, then I'm happy.

I've been playing since beta, and I got a total of 2 legendaries pre 2.0 loot. I thank the Blizzard Gods every day for allowing me to finally gear my Demon Hunter in full legendaries like she's always deserved <3.
Having to take the time to throw on BONUS gloves practically given to me by the game in exchange for FREE LOOT SACKS is a one hundred percent worthy exchange. If you're too lazy to toggle an option that allows access to some bonus content, you can go fuck yourself what else is there to say.

you didn't actually answer the question, you just further explained why RoS is better than Vanilla... I'll ask again, so your saying you wouldn't prefer they act like a charm?
Honestly, i'm a little surprised I mean the overwhelming answer appears to be "yes, this would be better but we shouldn't ask for better we should just accept what we have" and to me that's just insanity. I am not saying what we have is bad but god damn it if there is a better option out there why the hell shouldn't we ask for it?

Blizzard does not want charms, they don't like the idea of keeping items in your inventory for effects, and they certainly won't convert items to do that. I don't have the source post, but I am getting that info from a blue post from somewhere around a year ago. That being said, they don't expect you to keep these items in your inventory, they expect you to get bonuses from the equipment you use, and not get bonuses from the equipment you don't. If you choose to gear swap at various times for various effects, that's fine, but don't expect them to make any thing about that easier.
Because if they intended it to be charms ... they would be.
Asking for them to work in your inventory is asking too much.
Think about balance. Do you know exactly how many pairs of bracers there is with special effects? Do you also want your reapers, those with burst of speed on breaking objects and so forth to work from your inventory? Why not the bonus elemental damage while you're at it?
Gear swapping is already a "perversion" of the intented use of stuff. They tolerate it. It doesn't mean it's a feature that they're planning to improve on with passive equipment siting in your backpack.
(Also I hated charms. They were poor design)
There's a difference between a short burst of speed or health globes giving regen compared to a shrine giving an elite. One will be something that is constantly occuring like health globes mid-combat or breakable objects everywhere while the other like a shrine spawning an elite is a totally different thing. To say Blizzard didn't implement such an effect without the thought of it being used like this is totally false in my opinion, I mean it was the first thing I thought when I saw them the idea that elites spawn when u click a shrine sounds like something almost intentionally designed to be used like this. It's an effect that makes 0 difference in combat but a massive buff when u find a shrine, there's no way you would ever want to use them as part of ure equipment over pretty much any other leg bracers in the game so what else were Blizzards intentions with it?
On that note, I do agree having stacks of charms was a poor design but this just feels like that but even worse which is why i'm saying either have them or don't but this inbetween thing is just a bit silly.

I think it's funny how you can read, but apparently at the same time you can't so uh....no, I don't.

There should be a limit as to what people question should be changed though shouldn't there? This seems like a very minor inconvenience at the very worst, and not something that's game breaking. With that, shouldn't we let Blizzard prioritize things that are more inconvenient and game breaking?
I think for some people it becomes a matter of whether or not such requests are actually worth doing or not worth bringing up at all because they'd rather see other things changed. It's good to question aspects of the game that can be improved, but at what point do those requests change from being a quality of life improvements to minor improvements that the majority of people wouldn't even notice or care about? You also have to question how overpowered it would be to have all of these abilities readily available without having to swap out an item.
More on topic though, I think the issue you bring up is more of a question as to why are you only equiping said items when you do a single action rather than leaving them equiped. From Blizzard's stance so far on this game, I think they'd be more likely to either remove such items, or make it so you'd want to equip them permanently until a better upgrade comes along that wouldn't make you consider swapping them to buff a single ability.
Don't get me wrong, playing hardcore I understand completely as I'd prefer to have the ability to Town Portal in sketchy situation wherever I go, but I think this gear is more designed as a fun way to play the game rather than optimal, and Blizzard doesn't consider them as mandatory pieces.
How about we just make the game play itself for you?
I enjoy that my level 60 Nemesis Bracers still have some value to me. The slight inconvenience is worth the extra pack of elites. Besides, after they make Nemesis Bracers a "charm" then you're just going to wonder why all legendaries aren't charms and your Mask of Jeram can't give you 90% pet damage from your inventory too.
Bad idea is bad.
