According to a journal entry by Abd al-Hazir (dropped when you kill your first goblin), they go to "Greed's Domain". Little is known about that place though, or to be honest, no one knows anything, it's just rumors.
I bet Gheed is hiding there, I've been looking for that bastard quite a while, and "Greed's Domain" sounds like the perfect hideout for him.

You didn't get the memo? Blizzard wants to distance itself far from any Diablo 2 chars (Except Tyrael).
Cain ~ Dead
Cows ~ Out to pasture somewhere
Diablo ~ has tits, sex change ?
The story of D3 really disappoints and spits heavily at the lore. Act 2 & 4 story lines are Saturday morning cartoon drivel. Act 1 story line was perfect.
Didn't like the Tyrael arc personally, but everything that was non-major, like the Followers and tomes all over the place, were pure Blizzard storytelling bliss.

What bothered me most about Tyrael's role was that it led us to what felt like a happy ending.
I'm not sure that's what made the lore of Diablo so compelling. The hopelessness of what Tyrael once described as "An endless battle" (end-game Diablo 2). The world of Sanctuary is supposed to feel perpetually under siege. The sympathetic character of Marius was one of the most memorable and compelling video game characters ever conceived. Nothing similar appeared in D3.
Tyrael's role in D3 would've felt compelling had they had him die after becoming mortal, a sacrifice made for all mankind in the payment of his own existence.

Personally I see Tyrael's death coming before the story of D3 is over

hated these goblins.... brought my HC WD to greed land as well when I chased it and ambushed by 2 groups of elites
My question is, where do these goblins go when they jump in these mysterious portals?

I was just going to point out that the expansion may alter how we actually perceive the whole storyline.
