Perhaps I need some tin foil, but I could swear that before they did the late surprise maintenance the other night, the drop rates have been much lower as far as ilvl63 gear. I'm farming inferno Act 3 and sometimes 2. First couple of days I was finding a lot of ilvl63. A lot of it wasn't worth keeping, but I found a couple nice items that sold. These last couple of days, I've still found myself a couple of legendary items, which is nice. However, I'm not finding as much ilvl63. I also feel like I'm finding less Damage modifiers on two handers, similar to pre-1.04. I remember when 1.04 came the first couple days, I was getting reasonably high damage numbers on items in act 3 (at least reasonable for being able to play inferno). Now I'm not seeing it as much. I could just be getting RNGed like crazy, but maybe not. Any similar stories?
I'd say its possible that they nerfed drop rates in overall. But sometimes i do a full run and get like one or two ilvl 63's... And sometimes a single run can get me like 10.
I could see them doing that. Personally I noticed a bit of a drop in higher iLvl gear, and no more legendaries.
It would make sense if they bumped up the drop rates to flood the AH with all this new gear, people wanting to get it first and such, and then once Blizz got their "fair" share of profit from the RMAH, set it back to normal drop rates.
When they "ninja nerf" they usually announce it within a few hours. On a weekend though? No one's gonna be ninja-nerfing anything. What you're experiencing is RNG which Blizzard is king of.
