I remember reading about this offhand being duped on jsp almost 2 month ago, as there was 10+ of them on AH all at once. Although i've yet to see anyone post exactly how it's being done it's almost defiently happening yet maybe only with paticular items.
Although the ring is a new one to me... But it's very very very very very very unlikely that 2 items would drop with the exact same name and stats so probably a dupe to, gj blizz with ure "unbreakable" bnet 2.0... was hacked even faster than 1.0, was I mean duping and invincible classes within the first month.. Just wow '-.-
I can not be sure but I will say that I had an exact same item drop for me. I had a rare head piece drop off an elite pack and then the very next trash mob I killed dropped the exact item. I just shrugged it off as a glitch and never saw it happen again since.

I've experienced this as well, but it was 2 items, not 6+.

It's fun to hop on the hate wagon huh? Yea GG blizz!!! Ffs grow up and at least get your facts straight; they never said it was unbreakable they said it would increase security. Also bnet 1.0 was hacked as soon as it went up, don't just go around spoutin shit.
I just went to purchase a blue ring from a town vendor for my alt's follower, and noticed that I was able to buy more than one of them.
There are rare events where you come across a vendor and help him/her out, and your reward is to be able to purchase from them. Sometimes they have a rare.
Is it possible that people are farming these vendors and purchasing multiples if the rare is good?

You can't buy multiple rares from vendors like you can magics.

Something like that. My guess is that someone either had an incredibly lucky vendor event or an AH glitch and got themselves a pile of these things, and it slowly releasing them into the wild.
If Blizzard's only using 32-bit item seeds, there's also the Birthday Paradox to consider.
This was taken from the Blizzard forums posted about 20 minutes ago.
Long story short, I gave my friend a Grandfather 2H Sword when he dinged 60 because he was new and he had a really shoddy weapon. A few days afterwards my account was compromised, I managed to get it back but everything had been deleted/sold. The Blizzard Support Rep that I spoke to was able to restore my gear but only to a certain point, this point happened within a sweet spot between giving the weapon to my friend and recovering my gear. Meaning that when my gear was recovered I had a seperate second copy of the same Legendary that I had given my friend.
It didn't seem like a huge issue simply because it was a trash 600 dps weapon that wasn't worth anything, and that blizzard only allow two of these recoveries per account but I can see how it could be exploited as a one time thing across multiple accounts producing highly valued items completely duplicated.
This would make sense since the items that have been 'duped' are found in few quantities and not mass made.
I can easily see people deliberately getting their accounts 'hacked' (ie: have a friend 'hack' your account) to produce duplicates of extremely powerful and potent gear. Using this method, you could potentially replicate hundreds if not thousands of dollars in replicated gear, and the worst part is, Blizzard is the one duping the items for you =(

I have seen the dupe method before. Since I wont' do it, even to test, I have no idea if it has been fixed yet or not. The video I watched was convincing enough that I believe duping is alive and well for those who know how. There was a thread about some duped bows on here a while back. There were about 10 of those on the AH with identicle stats and buyouts so it was clearly a dupe. I've seen some other items pop up in the AH the same way.

All of these players are using the same offhand, the last player linked is using two of the same ring.
What is going on?
(Yes, I realize the irony in my username.)

Here's a link to a thread on the official forums, there's even more people with this offhand among other things apparently.
