I read the nice post about farming goblins and how many drops you get depending on your MF but Im just wondering which is best? I have tried doing the 2 easy Act II goblins on the road and then the one on the pathway to desert where Kulles bloods are. I havent gotten anything worth selling and have farmed it for the last 3 days. If it was a 100% chance of finding a Goblin up then I would farm it all the time but sometimes I got 9-10 reloads w/o getting a kill. Sometimes he spawns in the middle of an elite pack I cant kill or other mobs and my templar charges him and he ports.
But I also hate doing the Butcher runs becuase I always get side tracked trying to kill every elite in Act I and it takes me 3 hours to finish it. Been doing this guide here: http ://www.diablo3farming.com/2012/06/25/diablo-3-inferno-magic-find-item-farming-run/ and it seems easy. I usually end up with 10-15 level 61-63 yellows and a lot of blues to salvage. Just wondering which is a better way of making money? Also I dont cheat and MF swap I hunt in my MF gear which is 240%. Another funny thing is people say they always skip whites as much as possible when farming but 8/11 of my legendary drops have come off whites.
I cant post links yet so theres a space b/t the (http) and ( . )if anyone wants to see what farming route Im trying.
You're in luck; Butcher runs aren't the 'best'. Killing all the champ packs you can find is by far the best, a boss just ='s having killed two champ packs, so yea it's still beneficial, but the most efficient way (and the most fun imo) is running around your favorite zones trying to find champ / elite packs.
A boss isn't even 2 champ packs. You can get like 4 rares off a champ pack, but bosses will only drop 2 with a ton of blue items. A boss isn't worth the time investment.
That's why starting an Act near the final boss is the best and then backclear the Act then kill the boss as a cherry on top is most efficient.

I actually got 5 rares of a boss quite often with 237%MF
but I do agree the best way to farm IMO is to start at the last quest and go to places that hav either lots of elites, or guarenteed leets, then go kill the boss rinse and repeat, Act1 farm is popular because it's easily farmable with MF gear, and there is 2 ''bosses'' (AKA Warden and Butcher)
The best "farming" I've found in Act 1 is just doing one of the caves in festering woods over and over again with max MF. It's way better than doing butcher runs or just killing elites. You can kill an elite every 30 seconds or so and get tons of (mostly bad) loot. It's not very fun though....

No shit? Really? I've never gotten more than 3 a few times. And with the NV stacks, I have about that much MF. Lately, I've had to give up some of my MF cuz I haven't been getting drops with both DPS/survival and MF. Kinda irritating.

It's that 5th stack of NV that starts getting you rares nearly constantly. Unless a run gets you there, I don't feel like it's worth the time.

Try it before you dismiss it. The majority of time spent farming is looking for an elite. The tomb run eliminates this completely.
A ) There is always an elite pack a few seconds away from the checkpoint.
B ) When you leave the game and rejoin you are put back right in front of the elite pack again.
C ) You get all your cooldowns back so you completely destroy the rare pack in a few seconds. 2 minute cooldowns? No problem, they're available 30 seconds later in the new game.
I've done plenty of Act 1 butcher runs and I can tell you that the tomb run is the best place to farm Act 1 if you care about the loot and not the fun (assuming you have a full MF set).
I found out about this from a contest of who could farm the most ilvl 63 rares the quickest. This method beat all other Act 1 attempts by a large margin and even beat most Act 3 attempts unless they had some really great gear.
