I've been seeing a lot of heat about the RMAH, but I only have one honest question about it.
There seems to be a very good chance that all of the best items in the game will go the route of the RMAH because most players will want to make some money on the side while playing this game. Does Blizzard have any incentive for players that don't want to use the RMAH but still want to use the GAH and get good items? I fear that all of the set items and useful legendary items will become be seen in the RMAH and not the GAH once players realize that they can't use Diablo 3 gold to buy real life things (like food, or an awesome keyboard).
There is a chance that some players will continue to use the GAH, but I feel that Blizzard has made the RMAH so much more attractive because it has a real world incentive that the GAH will become barren and a dump for lvls 1-59 items that just help progress the player.
I might just be over paranoid and made the RMAH a more grandiose thing than it will become, but I wanted to know if there was any contingency plan in place for if this happens?
On a completely unrelated note, I find this game to be incredibly fun, very enjoyable and one that I want to play for years to come. If I was able to beat Inferno in a week I would have been very upset. Thank you for making the game we asked for so many years ago...even if most players forgot that this is exactly what we wanted at one point.
Once the current craziness blows over, I expect prices to tank fairly quickly as players start to get a handle on just how much items are worth, and just how much value they'll get out of them. I wouldn't be suprised if people were buying items to boost their item-farming capacity, in the hopes that they'll recover the cost. Also, some important factors are going to kick in:
Supply is guaranteed to increase over as more people reach endgame (or stop playing and cash-out ). Demand is guaranteed to decrease over time as more and more people get their level 63 BiS items. Finally, there's a price-floor of $1 for items. So eventually, for most gear (particuarly sub 63 rares, I suspect) the RMAH market will be dead.
Also, the RMAH requires an authenticator. I think it's fairly obvious that a large number of people don't have an authenticator, so the GAH is their only option.

Yeah, and as we've seen on this forum, some won't get one for any reason, so, they'll be forced to list on GAH if they want to sell stuff.
