There are a lot of complains and I think all of them can be worth looking at. I agree somewhat with the OP on this one. Yes, Inferno is difficult. I even found certain parts of Hell difficult with my WD. But by taking my time with the elite mobs and bosses I was able to see patterns and ways to exploit those patterns to defeat enemies that could easily kill me on a one-on-one fight. I feel that there are some players complaining that they are bored because they have finished everything they felt they could do in the game and others that find it too difficult to progress.
To the OP though, I don't think Blizz decided to nerf end game because of the handful of players complaining on a couple of forums. They claim to have statistics showing that many players can't progress through certain areas of the game. If it's true that they have this data, and there is no reason to doubt them at the moment, then I wager that they made the change to Acts II - IV Inferno based on that. There are as many people complaining about how hard Inferno is as there are people that have completed it. These players are the outliers of the whole community and Blizz has to try and please the largest group of people...this insures revenue and (hopefully) more years of great Blizzard games.
People are somewhat constrained when progressing through the game for the first time, that's true. However, once it's cleared, you have enough gear to get some space for improvisation with spells and builds in Inferno.
Thanks for complaining about it being so "impossibly hard" and gettin Blizz to NERF the best part about the game - the difficulty.
It's hard? O rly? You can BUY the best items in the game via REAL MONEY GUARANTEED!!! It doesn't get much easier than that.
The RMAH is gonna ruin this game. God I hope some MAJOR changes are made to D3 and soon - changes that revert D3 to the D2 and LOD style / feelings.
Thoughts?
My thoughts are the way the game is balanced, or skills are balanced, pigeon holes players into certain specs with very little variation.
I think that shielding monsters or minion shielding is broken.
I think that as a full tank spec barb the game is too easy and slow, and as a dps it can be impossible at times (I've killed inferno diablo as both specs numerous times).
I think that demon hunters are overpowered and probably at the same time tired of dying in one hit, as are most of the range classes.
I think LOH is broken and super powerful where life steal is completely pointless.
I think that bosses are way too easy and punish melee considerably more than they do ranged.
I think that the enchantress is broken and makes inferno easier while other companions are garbage.
My list can go on. The game isn't balanced. Just because a demon hunter can spawn zerg things down, or dps so high that it doesn't matter is the prime example of what this game should not be. If you want to go a certain spec their should be pluses and minuses. If I want to tank I should live longer and take longer to kill things, if I dps I should kill things faster but have to be more strategic. All resist should matter for all classes, and not ranged stacking their primary stat. Itemization is broken and it's primarily why I'm not buying anything on the Ah until 103. You should step back and not complain that blizzard is nerfing inferno because tbh, until 102b when they changed group monster dmg scaling, NOONE wanted to group, it was pointless and melee HAD to tank. At least now I can dps in a group and it's fun, as well I look forward to the inferno balancing and rune balancing in the future so that players can choose man than 1 skill that is a must, war cry-impunity, smoke screen, energy armor are a few examples.
If you honestly think that a elite pack of 1-shotters with invulnerable, vortex, jailer, etc, is balanced/difficult you are stupid.
If you honestly think that the damage monsters did in a full party inferno game is balanced/difficult you are stupid.
There comes a point where no amount of skill will let you conquer ''difficult'', and that's the sign of a poor piss rushed design, D3 breaking point was when they doubled it.
Get real, folks, the diablo you all knew is dead, a few years ago i said right here in this forum that D3 had a pretty good chance of being blizzard first bust (i was flamed to death ofc), and what you know, its not even beta and its already looking that way.
I just really hope Blizz takes into consideration some of the MAIN THINGS that made D2 / LOD so much fucking fun, and somehow incorporate them back into D3. I remember on the 15th I basically thought ok...this is a solo game? No chat rooms, no trading..just an AH (and now I have to basically PAY for good items since nobody is going to want fucking GOLD), and the list goes on. D2 / LOD would take weeks to earn items you needed based on what somebody wanted to trade for that item (until SOJ's were everywhere).
They finally patched it so you didn't need to solo anymore (thanks? they made a multiplayer game a multiplayer game again) and still only 4 people in a game at one time. No games have purposes...its anyones choice what to do in it. Players can't bounce between acts and do different things (not that really ever needed to happen but still). I don't like the fact that the game seems one dimensional with a continuing storyline and not separate situations. The list goes on and on including what all of you are saying.
Sure, I bet players new to the Diablo series are having fun - but are the vets having a good time? Everyone I know who were serious players are quitting due to their exact fears of what is possible for Blizz to fuck up on before the game came out.

Thanks for reading and replying.
i. Lack of build diversity
ii. Broken itemisation.
iii. Beyond acceptance umbalance.

this is new and exciting considering nobody ever really complained about the difficulty...
stop eating paint.

Is it? I'm quite happy with my itemization. Why is it broken?
Balance? As long as we don't compete with each other directly (and we don't), who gives a shit about balance? I definitely don't.
Edit: my point is - don't speak for everybody, please.

Dying too much? Here's a enrage timer.
