This is something i asked myself since ive been through nightmare difficulty. I dont see any things being added to the metagame of Diablo. Of course there is new classes and new spells and you got that supposed to be awesome system of altering your favourite spells by runes.
Now i dont necessarily think that would count as an improvement compared ( i dare to say it) Diablo II. Diablo 2 is the sole reason why i gave diablo 3 a shot. I used to play it for a year, then choose to quit it because it was ruining may day to day life only to fall back in the same addicted state of mind 2 years later. Diablo 3 is out not even 2 weeks and i already feel fed up of it. Its a great game for sure and i already have like 60 hours spent on my character so far but i have reached a point where i ask myself on how does this game differ to the game that was released 12 years ago and i come the conclusion that they have actually not added anything new to it in terms of metagame.
Contrary they removed so many things which i appreciated back then, an EXP bar which gave me the illusion not to only join games because of the loot. A gambling Vendor, Charsi or even the Hellforge Quest for getting a sole Gul rune every once in a while.
They removed those things and in turn added nothin but an Auction House which is turning this game pre infero into a real bad joke. I just want to know if this is it or if we can expect more to it? This is (in my opinion) less then D2. Inferno will be beaten the same way people did beat Hell difficulty back then. A lot of people kept playing after that tho. The Thing is i can not see me playin past inferno difficulty because in some way the developers just trivialized the meta game of what this game is about. Diablo 2 was never only about loot hunting.. Loot hunting was just the ticket to try something new. even if that 'new' was something you read about on a dedicated fan site.
I did enjoy it. Thread Title is not misleading because if you look at it its less then DII ever was. DII was grind and grind all over again but with so many options that it quite didnt feel like that pure grind for the sole purpose of having to grind. Well, maybe im just curious in how it is possible that this Blizzard North Team did more with less back then.

What the fuck, are you serious?
Everyone else hates it cause it's not an exact copy and paste of D2...!? Idk
Thread title is misleading btw, thought you enjoyed the game.
