I LOVE this game so much. Have about 45 hours packed into it (means I played it more than I worked this week) - for me, that's saying a lot. Reached Act 2 Hell, and I'm getting my ass handed to me - which is what I expected and hoped for. Love this game, and can see myself putting a ton more hours into it...
... However! Legendaries and set items are a big disappointment for me. Blues having the potential to be far better than any legendary is a big let-down. Someone in a blue question said it best: "If the apples turn out to be rotten, you eventually stop giving chase after them". When (if it ever happens. ) I see a legendary drop, I want them to be awesome! Not having to hope for Windforce not spawning with a ton of strength or intellect on it. This is fine for blues and rares, but hoped legendaries and sets would be different.
Basically everything you've said there is exactly my Diablo life right now. The hours spent, being in act 2 hell, the problem with legendaries, and the fact that you have my old avatar.
Stealing my life I see
You love a game where blues are better than legendaries? Cool. If your logic is that bad no one is going to care that you're tired of constructive criticism.
Every game released in the internet era has had a non-stop parade of whining. The whiners always like to justify their whining, but it's still just whining. It can be fun to give them rationality and see how they twist it. You can be helpful to the community by providing quality content on the forums. BUT, you'll never see the end of whining on the internet. You just gotta learn to see them for what they are: spoiled people throwing temper tantrums.

I grew up gaming without internet forums. The entire phenomenon of being upset with a game developer makes no sense to me. No sense. I cannot imagine spending my time and energy being upset about something I choose to do for recreation.

Actually I do, I think it would be extremely boring to get a legendary and know that for the entirety of the rest of that character I won't ever find something better. I know that legendaries have random stats too, but the whole theory behind them is that legendaries have more stable stats than a blue (eg. you won't get a magefist with nothing except str and dex). Personally I think that people would have been fine with the system if they had kept the same names but classified them as uniques instead of legendaries. Just like when Blizzard called Death Knights a hero class, people expect more because of the name.
The game is great fun until you reach Inferno Act 2 and everything is overtuned. I LOVED playing in Hell. It was difficult and there was lots of strategy required. Sadly, Inferno isn't like that all. The only possible strategy past Act 1 is to kite. Suddenly, a very fun game gets a bit boring.
I'm hoping that gear will fix that, but I only have about 3 slots left that I could possibly upgrade from Act 1 loot so I'm not holding out hope. I currently get 1 shot in Act 2.
Play the whole game before you QQ about QQing. No one is QQing about Hell difficulty. People enjoyed the challenge there because you'd die but it wasn't a cheap one shot fest.
To all of those people telling other people not to QQ when they haven't played inferno I have this to say.... Play 4 other classes, max them till you get the buthurt of inferno, then play 5 HC characters to inferno (don't play it obviously), and then farm achievements. By then you might have some PvP or some balancing patch in which you can do Inferno... if not well your thousands of hours were filled by $60.
Blizzard said it would be nearly if not impossible and here we are.

Playing Diablo since 97. I know nothing and having nothing good to say, I be a troll.

The world and in this case, games, are what you make of them.
We all knew inferno would be hard, now comes the grind.

At some point you will never find a better item. So it might as well be a legendary perfect rolled than some boring model rare. Some builds might prefer a perfectly rolled rare because of the limited number of legendaries out there which each have a few set affixes.
Not a big fan of the DK reference. Only the wrong people expected DKs to get anything more than they got otherwise there would be an obvious class imbalance. They got the only real starting area that wasn't complete ass, and they started at level 55. Not only that but Blizzard even backed off on the term later on realizing that the phrase gave away more than it should.
Unique or legendary, including flashy models and flavor text, have always been expected to be the best (there has to be a "best" of something). Either name doesn't change the expectation.
I know dude. Buncha snot-nosed crybabies.
Blizzard calls these people, "casual gamers".
Lazy, whiney, WoW-spoiled noobs who want everything handed.to.them.
Diablo 2 was unforgiving.. I miss when games had real consequences so players would realize that maybe (JUST MAYBE) they are the problem.
Not the developers.
"I suck at this game..Hmm.. Time to forum-lurk until I'm good again."
-WoW gamers worldwide ---> D3.
The game is excellent but there are some things to qq about, especially end game stuff that are unbalanced, don't make sense or just badly designed.
Don't get me wrong I really really love the game, but I think the end game is just rushed and need a few fixes (class balance, items, ennemy scaling vs player scaling in inferno).
Like most things, this is a situation for moderation.
People who are calling anythign at all critical - even if it's constructive - QQing, are not adding anything to the conversation. But people who are whining like crazy, with vague, half legitimate complaints really are QQing.
However, there are a whole bunch of people in between those extremes who know this is a good game. A new game. A game that will probably be in revision for a while, as most multi-player games are, after a release or add-on. It makes complete sense for the community to be discussing balance, issues and ideas.
Some of us will want things left alone that others will want changed and vice versa. There's no reason those discussions can't be intelligent and productive.

I am just about to hit 60, in act 3 hell, and loving every aspect of this game so far. Minus the crazy elite mob packs lol.
If the game sucks so bad. Dont play it, leave the forums, and let those of us who are very happy with the game play it in peace.
That is all, goodbye. *flameon*

Yesterday Barbs were whining about Wizard's kiting in hell. Now Barbs [supposedly] got fixed (DR) and they're whining about that now.
