This isn't a waaaah I didn't get it or a look at me I'm special post. It just popped in my head the possibility that Blizzard either is either trolling its players or very smart. As most of us know those who got the WoW Annual pass, one of the selling points was MoP Beta access. Does anyone else think that with this little "reward" in Diablo 3 will set a precedence for future betas? It would be a fantastic way for Blizzard to bank a little extra money since we all know a lot of people would gladly pay to be in beta. And a lot of peoples annual passes will be up in a few months. Not only will you get a guaranteed beta spot, you just might get a shiny in the real game for having that spot.
Another post like that, oh my ! I have to admit that you make sense, paying 60$ of WoW to get a useless feat of strength in Diablo, yeah yeah that makes sense !
I'm not saying I would buddy but we all know there's some Blizz fanboys out there that would pay out the ass just to be in a beta. It totally makes sense for Blizzard just do it themselves and say look you'll even get a tangible reward for doing it. -1 for attempted troll and sarcasm good sir.
I think most people got the AP for a free copy of D3.
This.
People who play WoW anyway, and know they want to continue playing both games.
Its a simple financial decision, you save 60e, easy.
Yes most DID get it for D3 but go to mmochamps forums sometime there's some out there that could care less for D3 and got it for MoP. And for those that didn't still getting the beta access was enough incentive to help the decision. Because honestly if all they offered was D3 and nothing else I definitely wouldn't of signed up.
I don't think it was a calculated move. I don't even think a WoW Feat of Strength for beta access would be serious incentive to buy the annual pass. Beta MoP access by itself would probably be of more interest than a Feat of Strength that doesn't really carry any prestige.

Don't underestimate the OCD gamers out there that feel like being denied a FoS or a small reward won't irk them into signing another contract. The D3 annual pass for example only had 1.2 mil sign up out of around 11 million.. Only around 15% but that 15% means some added guaranteed income. As a business it totally makes sense for them to cater to any demographic that will make them money. Keep in mind with D3 you aren't just getting the FoS you're getting the bonus sigil. In WoW it could be a pet or mount in SC2 it'd likely be a portrait.
