So i never played diablo 2, i loved diablo 1 though lol i played it recently just for the good memories i have when i was little and played it xD now d3 is coming and i got some questions please help me out.
1st of all: classes, im usually the close range fighter type but i can imagine how that is impossible to do on inferno mode with bosses and such. so how much "better" are ranged classes in pve for the harder difficulties?
2nd, what would be better (as in more efficient, faster, SAFER) to do for hc mode, group or solo? i heard that with groups obviously the monsters will be alot stronger so would it be easier/more efficient to solo infero on hc or with a group?
3rd, i assume that hc and sc mode are completely unrelated to eachother, for example i cant farm inferno on sc then take the gear to my hc char? it would be stupid imo if its possible but just to be sure.
4th, is there any word from blizzard about the possibility of connection error deaths on hardcore? my internet goes off for like 2 minutes about 3 times a day (my DSL light on the modem starts flashing and then the internet light turns red for some minutes and then it turns back green and all works totally fine)
i think thats about it lol any advice or anything always welcome
edit: thanks all. just wondering about if playing solo will be affected in any way by my internet or such? i really wanna do hc mode but it would be impossible unless its like a 100% offline mode.
1. Ranged classes generally have an easier time yes. Barbs and Monks do get a free 30% damage reduction though which should go a long ways towards keeping them alive. All 5 classes should be fairly equal.
2. Solo unless you know the people you're grouped with and trust them.
3. You are correct. SC and HC gear is completly separate.
4. Any death is death. Characters will not be restored for ANY reason.

thanks you about #2 lets assume i know the people in my group, i meant more as in how much harder does the game get in group mode vs solo mode? if they get 10x more health and dmg for example then solo would be more efficient.
and #4 ok tough luck for me then haha but solo wont be needing any internet at all right so i could farm on hc mode but solo without any worries of deaths not my fault. correct?
edit: wow fast replies haha thanks all. just wondering about if playing solo will be affected in any way by my internet or such? i really wanna do hc mode but it would be impossible unless its like a 100% offline mode.
Melee classes will have skills or abilities that enable them to either completely mitigate damage, reducing incoming damage or replenish health to compensate for the possibility that they will be getting hit a lot.
Also, they might be able to do better DPS as they don't have to move around to avoid mobs or projectiles
yeah my problem was mostly in d1 with the "special" mobs they would just 1 shot me lol or large groups of ranged mobs would just be impossible to kill

If you know your group than it will be slightly faster than solo I believe is what they've said.
Solo play is still online, it is impossible to play Diablo 3 offline.

Btw i can switch between solo and grp whenever i want right? if im doing solo and some friends get online and they are like an act behind me i can just join them and later resume my solo game?
Ps i still think its weird it doesnt have a offline mode for solo

Price to pay for wanting to make sure that people don't dup items and perform other cheats which was rampant in Diablo2. This way like any other MMO, there's more control over items dropped and such.

2: in grps you ill be with stronger monsters but with more players so depending on how good your grp is would determine if solo or grp play is better
3:yea no SC gear can be given to a HC char or vise versa
4: if your HC char dies for ANY reson its dead even connection issues or server errors thats the reason it is HARDCORE.
2. I think I read a blue post that playing in a group will be easier (monsters will be tougher, but you have a lot more "fire power")
3. You're right, SC and HC have no connection.
4. Don't play HC if you have connection problems
