Even in the last season, I would typically earn more DB's with UE than Impale, but then that could be because I just don't really like Impale and find it awkward to play. But since UE received such a huge buff this patch, I expect it will have become far superior for sure.
On the PTR I never measured the db/hr rate of two builds, but as you say UE MS will clear the rift itself faster. This will result in more keys/mats/legs per hr for sure. All in all I prefer to run UE MS in normal rifts, its just too damn strong and fun to clear entire screens with a click of your mouse button. Shadow Impale will still be viable to run T13 with, but UE MS is noticeable more efficient, so personally I would stick with UE MS.
If you're just hunting DB's then you should likely clear to the end of the rift regardless as it gives greater chance to run into gob packs as well. Previous seasons I would definitely say impale is the fastest way to to just farm but with how strong multi-shot is now, it may be just as fast since you will one shot trash. Either one will be really nice for this now. I like to pair a 50 hoarder gem, averice band in cube, warzche.. armguards with multishot for maximum movement. I will also sometimes max out my hatred in paragon and pick up blood vengeance passive just to ensure I'm not waiting on hatred while speed farming. Discipline can sometimes be the issue for me on multishot but not as much with the hoader, averice, w.armguards combo. I would usually do the multishot build for T10 if I wasn't strong enough and use impale for pure DB farming at T13. Now it is going to be OK to farm at T13 with UE right away due to how strong the build is. Sorry if I have not helped.
TL;DR - Either one will be strong enough now for T13 farming. Don't worry about closing the rift, just keep farming to the end (unless you are keystone starved).

I'm not sure that this is true? The chance of a goblin spawning is based on RnG, and does not increase if you are near the start, or end of a rift. You are just as likely to have it spawn at the start of your next rift...
I have thought about this and done some D3 Planner work.
Because Natalya's is the only set that can equip sages, I think it may end up being the best DB farmer. I do believe it can easily be pushed into a T13 farmer even, closing rifts in the 2-2:30 range.
I am working on creating a setup now, but as I have never done it before my progress is slow.
UE for sure. Impale i always cleared most mobs anyways, obviously less efficient, but how i set it up was that i basically am lazy and have veng on the num lock trick, so i hover my hand on shift and 1-4, and just hold right click down, and vault through aiming at whatever moves, while spamming vault for movement...works well. reason shift is that you can control when and where you stop to kill stuff, so its a game of shift, impale mobs, vault and shift to stand and impale mobs, vault, vault, shift...etc
for MS its a bit different, and faster. dont have to hold shift nearly as much, just hit vault, and 1 (for me, 1 is shadow power with the speed rune) and just keep moving, only right clicking for multi when needed, but now that its buffed, you don't fire off nearly as many multi's and use up nearly as much hatred as before, so you can focus the entire build more for speed, than raw dps, which means its way way faster and it clears entire rooms at a time, rather than impale that only can hit 3 targets at a time, and sometimes the stragglers get annoying or i guess just keep moving
MS clears everything, although this isnt super important in the long run, it feels better to kill everything than to only skip through to elites, but this is talking from a purely t13 speed run, obviously it changes when you do GR's, but for farming t10-t13, why not clear everything and all floors, more loot and xp, and gold for the goldwrap (which makes you pretty much invincible for anything that hits your armor, but look out for magic attacks)
You can tear through a t13 when geared decently (not stupid geared like 1500+ para, all augs and primals etc) under 2 min ish easily, which impale can maybe do but you'd need to play really well, and speed through, skip stuff, and hope for a good rift...where MS you simply enter and spam multi, and vault/speed run through, done. I've heard can even do sub 1:30 ish clears when geared, which i can see possible given how fast you can clear when you have avarice, hoarder, couple other things made for pure absolute 400% speed bonus, MS is a monster
so TLDR; MS is far superior for speed clearing t13 for dbs and keys, impale for higher GR's for gems imo.
True, but I believe the rng to spawn the gobs happens at rift creation. So you could be abandoning a rift before you meet the gob pack. I've been in many pub games where someone had hit a gob pack after the rift had been closed and timer is counting down. Also, I will always complete a rift that has a gob pack at the front, as I'll often run into another set before the end. Anecdotal I know, but it has been true for me.

Same for me here
When farming DBs I typically run the whole Rift. Makes more sense to me though.
UE Multi for sure.

Hi All
The question is simple: which of the above will net more DB/h?
Multishot will finish rifts much quicker by just killing screens of enemies.
Impale will hunt down elites only for more DB but longer runs.
What do you Guys think?
Regards

And may the odds be ever in your favour.

Thanks for the answers guys! I will try Multishot for sure.
