If you're looking to our personal Twitter accounts for any hints of information that might help you ascertain a release date of Diablo III, you're going to be disappointed.
I'm assuming you're referring to my tweet about a "big meeting." I have several meetings a day and just felt like being silly on my personal feed on a Monday morning. Was it really enlightening or informative? No. Was there ANY indication that meeting had anything to do with Diablo III development or release? No. (Because it didn't.) Do I sometimes tweet about the weather, cute cats, rocks on the ground, and other random stuff that won't bring you any closer to your copy of the game? Totally.
Since everything you mentioned in your OP was taken from Twitter, I'm assuming you're asking that we not use our personal social media accounts to communicate with anyone until our company announces a release date for Diablo III.
The unfortunate fact is we're human beings. We use social media to communicate with others about day-to-day affairs, whether or not what we're saying pertains to our jobs.
If you want to follow what we're saying, awesome. But if you feel like any post we make that has anything to do with our careers, yet isn't breaking news about the status of Diablo III, is just a huge tease or attempt to bait you... well, you're crazy... and almost as excited for this game as we are.
Don't hype yourself for no reason. Straight from blue - you're wasting your time.
I've learned to stop believing that anything will be relevant to release date. The final blow was the DIII opening cinematic which I had hyped myself to believe there would be a release date at the end. Blizzard is just fucking with us left and right, and to be honest they are being pussies about it. They really need to stop pussyfooting around and trying not to step on toes or piss off fans and come out with "Release Date soon." or "Sorry guys, we're pushing back to Q2/Q3/Q4/whenever because we don't feel the game is ready." We all know Bashiok is a huge troll and so on, but when there is such a heated community waiting for them to say something, anything, about a game like this they need to have balls.
I've gotta agree with everyone who is tired of feeling tugged around. I mean since we had all been told that they had wanted to release the game at the end of 2011 it really isn't hard to understand how we would at this point be looking for signs that it is finally coming out. They could do us all a favor (and maybe they will next week with Jay's write up) and be open and let us know what we need to know as fans to have a good idea of how close or far they really are from launch. It's been so up and down that they could throw us a bone and give us solid info.
I hope we get that next week. No release date but for the love of our sanity some real idea of where they are with the game... it's only been 3 and a half years since they announced the game to us O.o!
Go figure. Saw this one coming... The constant jerking us around is getting really old. Intentional or not. You can't keep messing with your fanbase like this or your going to receive nothing but resentment. It's getting very childish at this point.
I guess from the inside perspective (that of Z's and Bash and what not) it's easy to forget that us (the masses) are hanging on every bit of information. Even the more level headed of us (which I include myself in that category) seemed to let these last few days get to us.
