Can we form a closer communication/relationship with Diablo's development and the (*edit "future) players?
That would be such a huge win win. The mystery element such as announcements of announcements feels like dirty marketing. im no marketing expert and i still feel like the lack of information seems to translate to a lac of interest in the community to allot of people (based on the responses I've read).
Can we have announcements of systems followed up by a more in-depth progression still honoring the integrity and non reveled elements of the game?
Open communication would mean that Bashiok couldn't troll us (as much). We can't have that.
haha but for real, why the @#$% not...it seems way more productive for both us and blizzards intentions of building hype, its like they dont want to spread themselves (blizzard) to thin which is impossible when dealing with Diablo fans....why not let us join in on the development ride. (*edit "even more than we already are/aren't")

Because that would do nothing but hurt them. Pretend they talk openly;
Blizzards puts a webcam in their meeting room then talks about some cool new systems they are thinking of.
Those systems are immediately scrapped, because that's what happens a million times during a games development.
Now suddenly the communities mad because half of them liked the idea, rage ensues.
It makes a LOT more sense to not talk until things are done. Just leave it be, you're feedback is important on issues that are relevant, just having people give their opinion on random stuff as they develop just bogs stuff down.
Blizz just needs to not announce games 4 years ahead of release date, and miss "intended" dates by up to a year....
Sometimes, it makes you wish Blizzard was less successful and had less $$$ and had someone breathing down their necks to get the thing out!
I totally disagree. Blizzard is one of the only Game Companies where I can depend on to deliver a solid game and most times very very addicting. Take Starcraft 2, it has been forever since I bought a strategy game. Most either lack innovation or are just too complex for non stratefy gamers to get into. Starcraft 2 comes along and I loved it! Although I played through the campaign and
never touched it after that (cos I'm not a PvP or strategy fan) it was an awesome game experience.
I want D3 (And every game Blizzard produces) to have that same blizzard magic. This means their developing method of reiterating game play elements and discarding them even at late stages should be continued. Sure we have to wait but... we KNOW it will be awesome. Unlike other developers where its a hit or miss.
You can't blame them for trying to make the game as polished as possible before it's release , When d3 will come out it's gonna be the way they intented it to be. it's gonna be awesome!! =D

Oh look, yet another fanboi that doesn't understand that there does indeed come a point at which level of polish and reasonable release date cross paths. Imo that should come somewhere before half a decade of development.
Especially considering:
A. Knowing Blizzard, Diablo III at release and Diablo III a few years later will be very different games.
B. They don't communicate anything.
Knowing ^ these things, I agree with the OP 100%. Too much quiet, too much bullshit mystery, etc.
Well I can't really blame them for keeping us in the dark. Just look at the runestone system Jay originally put forwards in those interviews. He thought the idea was pretty bad ass, and a team had obviously spent a good amount of time making it happen, despite as much negative as positive(if not more negative) fan reaction.. they went through with it only to decide it wasn't what they had invisioned before, and so now we're all pissed off at them for wasting time on it. And this was just one idea and people are furious.
People are sheeple and should be treated as such, and good for those who can read between the lines with a higher understanding, and pity those who believe everything is a conspiracy!
In the end we all know blizz is running a business and the goal of a business is to make money. More than anything else you can predict what they're doing (and not doing) and why for that reason.
Ever hear the phrase "too many cooks in the kitchen" ??
Opening everything to the public would be absolutely disastrous and nothing would get accomplished. Companies have to get work accomplished and having everyone involved slows down the process drastically.
Feedback is always helpful (for example letting game company know that the recent buff to X is too overpowered - game company realizes this and adjusts values), but being a part of the process just doesn't work.

Reductio ad absurdum much? I don't think anyone here (or anywhere else for that matter) has suggested or implied that we want to be in on the actual development process... And this game is far too far along to worry about people stealing shit from it and publishing another game first, which would be bad because they rushed it and people wouldn't buy it anyways...
All we're saying is "why are we left in the dark about why this game has been repeatedly delayed and still has no release date or explanation of why a release date is missing?". That's hardly a vie for creative control over the game... Blizzard is just horribly and notoriously bad at communication, and then they sit around wondering why everyone is mad at them. "Herp derp, I have control over one of the most popular game franchises ever made and haven't told anybody anything about it, why are they made at me?!?!!!1!!!one!!!?"

I think so... but not by much. In not revealing unrevealed systems and elements of the game, all you are really left with are generic "we are 55% done with the item property randomization system", or "we are done with the drop rate system and working on the rune system"... I think they have done an okay job of this.
Blizz just needs to not announce games 4 years ahead of release date...
I think 4 years is a bit of a rediculous span of time between announcement and release... But 4 years is an even more rediculous amount of time to be hanging on the edge of your seat, hanging on any tidbit of developmental news that gets released.
I am really excited for D3 too, but there are other things you can be doing besides sitting on these forums, litterally just waiting for news of release... Esepecially if the waiting is upsetting you. This is not a knock on the DiabloFans site or forums. I am happy it exists.
P.S. Why with the one star thread rating votes? It was a legitimate question.
