well. looks like its time to add follower builds to other builds. all tho with all of the friends wanting to play with me when they ask what follower will i use i say " a barb ".
Some of the comments on that post are pretty funny. "Sorry, Blizzard. Got tired of waiting and moved on to Skyrim." As if those people aren't going to be the first ones in line when the game comes out.
Really looking forward to seeing the skill break downs for the 3 followers. I'm so happy they made these mercenaries end game viable - Don't know why they ever considered anything different. Now we're just waiting on the artisans. 8']
Weren't there a lot of people around here shouting "STOP QQ ABOUT NORMAL-ONLY MERCS, BLIZZARD WON'T CHANGE IT!" ?? I wonder where they are now....
And a lot of us QQ'd back saying what a huge waste of time to implement something this great and it only being limited to normal and single player use.
Maybe we can speculate and derive even further about the release date the fact that The Artisans' page isn't up yet either, therefore when that's done the release might be sometime after that...MAYBE Also don't think we should bother with the Acts' page, cause Blizz want to keep the content of the later Acts a secret...MAYBE <_<
cant wait to get more info on this for sure. I just dont want it to be balanced around them... If im playing by myself, id rather play by myself, and not have to need a NPC...
Wil followers be allowed in PvP? I think not. How do they work in party games? In the beta there's only 1 follower for the group of four during the final quest.. Maybe in retail there will be the potential for 4 Heros + 4 Followers pwning in PvE?
I assume they will be absolutely integral for end game play. If you want to solo inferno I'm sure you'll need a monster follower to help.. fully leveled and geared up. I love it. At the end of the day, it heaightens customization even further. =)

What they have said previously is that followers are strictly for solo play and that's the way it works in beta as well. The quest where you actually meet Kormac for the first time is the exception though of course. So well, unless Blizzard changes its mind about followers in party games I very much doubt we'll see them in PvP.
And yeah about solo followers they did also talk about how they wanted them to be good, but they also wanted them to not be mandatory, meaning they didn't want to force a follower on you to be viable in solo end-game. They talked about maybe adding some kind of passive bonus when don't have a follower. No further info on that yet though.
Seeing the different abilities, and knowing that I will play Barbarian as my main, I am really liking the abilities of the Scoundrel. What do others think?
Yeah, maybe. Having a tank keeping enemies at bay is always a good thing when you are a squishy ranged. All of them have brings some nice stuff to the table though :).
Another interesting part is the level that you can pick the first of their skills. Templar starts at level 5, Scoundrel at level 10 and Enchantress at level 15. Level 5 (probably a bit higher if you aren't rushing) is around the time you first meet the Templar so it leads me to believe that you'll probably get the scoundrel around level 10 and Enchantress around level 15.

I noticed that too, and was thinking the same thing. I'm guessing they are all introduced during act I then? I think that's cool, instead of having to wait until you clear through a few acts before getting the follower you want for whatever class.

Good find Verity. Do we estimate that we'll still be in Act 1 at lvl 15?

I'm not surprised they changed their mind...
