So, this is a topic primarily for fun and joy and happiness.
I want to know what you guys would like to see in any expansions of Diablo 3. It could be the first expansion, second expansion, one hundredth expansion or all of them together. =)
I'll start:
In first expansion of Diablo 3 I would love -
1. New act (bigger than any previous act)
2. New class or 2
3. Seeing as Blizzard want Diablo to be the last boss, it can be that he managed to survive in Act 4, acquires more powers and ends up at the end of Act 5. =)
4. Increased max level (possibly level 80) with more skills! =)
5. Additional changes to the first 4 acts; change their aesthetics and story here and there, to make them renewed in a way that would make people really want to play through them again even though it would have probably been done over a hundred times before the next expansion. I want the expansion to bring a real living dynamic feel with it, giving the world of Sanctuary new life in the new act and old ones (change in environments, new monsters, new npcs, new areas, new mini bosses, potentially a new big boss - all in the first 4 acts).
How about no, since the game isn't out yet and you have no actual idea on the content?
Why bring pessimism here? This is a topic for what people would like to see in future expansions of Diablo 3. Go be a party pooper somewhere else please.

I agree, no reason to come in here and be a downer about it. This could be a fun topic for some people to discuss. We've all been waiting so long for this game to come out, and we're running out of things to talk about while we wait for it, so talking about expansions can be exciting for some people.
I don't really have any ideas of my own for expansions, since I think I would have to see the game first to see what unfolds in the story and such, but I think it would be cool, like you said, if Diablo came back again in the expansion after that, as a bigger and more badassery (wtf) boss. I also think it'd be cool if some previous acts were changed slightly... Like maybe some new baddies in the expansion come out and destroy part of a major quest hub, and part of the story line end up being that you need to help them out with that.

Who knows what the future holds!
That's exactly right. I started this topic just to give us something more positive to discuss while we wait for the real thing to be upon us hehe. Doesn't matter if we don't know what the story has in store for us, just have fun with it and make up stuff . =)
I agree on the level gap in a new expansion, i was quite let down when my 99 sorc wasnt able to level higher and we only got one new act in "Lord of destruction"
also i would like to get a rehaul off the exsisting acts, Act 1 got really tiresom after a few years :-)
also I'am curious to when they will reset the ladder in Diablo 3. Since in Diablo 2 it's every 6 month, but that sounds way to off in Diablo 3, considering the Inferno diff, and the fact that there arent/wont be/ iam hoping for. not to be that many botters in Diablo 3 as there are in Lord of Destruction.
Your right about Act 1 getting boring. I am an idiot for watching so many Diablo 3 beta videos that I am already kind of bored of that section of the content hehe. So to play it over and over with many different characters will just enhance that "not again" feeling of the first 3rd of Act 1... So a few fresh changes to these parts will be very welcome in any expansions.
Also, I heard Blizzard mention that they would be making expansions within 3 years of release. Knowing Blizzard, its possibly going to be right at that 3 year mark. So I really hope they manage to dish out an expansion about a year and a half after release. =)
I don't agree on the overhaul of the old acts. Heck, I feel like the game could go the way of WoW in one specific thing I despise about WoW: You missed this years ago? Too bad! You can't play it! I got in at WotLK, and nobody ever experience things from BC and original WoW, and now its worse with Cataclysm.
If its small -additions- then I'm fine, but I do -not- want them to change it beyond rebalancing and small tweaks. They could put that effort in new acts.
So what would I want, I'll comment on those on the first post first.
1- New act, of course. But just 1? LoD was short even by expansion standard. And since D3 is looking as long is not shorter (many hints at that) than D2... I'm hoping expansions can really expand here. At least 2 acts or the equivalent.
2- New class, hell yeah. Wouldn't consider this a Diablo expansion if it doesn't have any new class.
3- Disagree completely there. If they want Diablo to the badass boss of Act 5 (or 6, or 15), then make it so. I don't want to fight Diablo two times unless he's completely different (like, merged with other demons or whatever).
4- Increased max level was confirmed, no? If it wasn't well, I'm expecting it, and I want it, too. Along with new skills would be really sweet, but those skills would be unlocked at early levels, so it would be kind of a weird transition for all level 60.
5- See above. They can expand, but not change dramatically.
Other changes I'm really hoping for in expansions or content patches are simple extension of what Diablo is capable in its randomness: More random quests, more random boss attributes, new type of item stats, new types of items. Heck, they could add 1 entirely new type of rune per expansion... Though thats doubtful, would be a lot of work

Hmmm... You might be right, didn't really think of it that way. Maybe they could have small additions in normal difficulty, but as you achieve nightmare and beyond, the additions become larger to the point where environments are changing quite EPIC-ly! (if they don't already have that in the release...)

I completely agree with you here, something I forgot to add. New runes, gems and items... As well as possibly that talisman system they revealed early on in development, would be totally awesome!!! =)
1. Bring in the Talisman and Charm system they removed.
2. 2 New Classes
3. New Act in Heaven
4. More Gems
5. Expanded Multiplayer (More Modes, dueling in world)
6. More co-op players (6 or 8 Max)
7. New Shop (Carpenter that links to the new Charm System)

Not to be a dick but I feel the need to shut down a couple options =D
There is already an act in heaven
Maybe more pvp modes I agree with, but I see them never putting in dueling in the world, as they have said that only creates a griefing atmosphere
They also said anything more than 4 players in co op creates a very messy on screen look
I do like the idea of two new classes, and something like the carpenter =P

5. Jay Wilson did state (i can't remember where though) that Blizzard did in fact intend to apply optional dueling in the world, but it won't be an expansion, most probably just a patch...
6. I don't really want this (at least not until I try the game out and see how a group of 4 goes)... Also the Blizzard team most probably won't apply this, giving reasons that the screen becomes to messy.
I don't think Diablo is a game where they're likely to overhaul all the previous acts. That's weird to even think about.
I could see a class or two, a new act for sure, new items, maybe the charm system, etc.
I don't mean it as a complete overhaul lol. What I mean is just a few changes and additions. eg: A few new areas that run off from current areas (additional side quests that promote their existence), new npcs that come along with these new areas, extra bits of side lore such as travelers' experiences, a few new side dungeons here and there, additional monster, etc...
Just some stuff not effecting the main story that could add more interest in the game and frankly, wouldn't you be happy about some new stuff like this after having gone through the same thing over and over? =)
I want my Druids, and I want Scosglen. That is all.
I would love to have a druid class in an expansion. But what I'd love even more is a different type of shape-shifter class taking inspiration from the druid and the minions of hell.
Demonologist: A class that can crank out some summons, but primarily is about shape-shifting into different types of demons - it would be even cooler if the demons it could shape-shift into were ones similar to some of the demons you fight in the game. =)
I want my paladin back or any that resembles a paladin (templar, avenger, crusader, knight) that uses 1h and shield as recommended weapon and a zeal type skill that's upgraded for next gen.

I love all loot fest kind of game! I will be playing all of them for the next few years. Loot fest games I'm looking forward to: LotR: War in the North,Torchlight 2,Borderlands 2 and of course Diablo 3.

You got your Templar follower!
I think between the Templar follower and the Monk, that's enough holy warriors, I don't see them making another class using holy powers.
According to their product slate, and I'm sure I've heard mention of it elsewhere, they might be releasing two expansion. http://www.blizzardnewmmo.com/wiki/images/e/e1/Blizzardproductslate.jpg
I'm very excited if they do, it might boost the longevity of the game so much more. So in light of that:
1 Act per expansion. I really hope they bring out large acts for the expansion, preferably with more locations. Even if they use two locations in one act, I'd be fine with it. Seeing more of the world of Sanctuary as well as heaven and hell is always a bonus.
Larger level cap. Hopefully they'll raise the level cap a bit more. Maybe 15 per expansion, meaning 75 with the first one and 90 with the second. At least then the gap between D2's higher levels and D3's will be closer.
1 Class per expansion. I wont mind just one class, two would be fine. But 9 classes at the end of the second expansion just seems overkill, and I'm afraid their functions might overlap, which makes some classes more useful in a given functions than others.
More items. Oh hell yes. Look at what they brought in with D2LoD, now do the same for D3 and we'll have a ton of variety. And not just more of the same, but more variety. For instance not just more gem types, but also more items to place in item sockets, like jewels. And lots of other stuff to do, artisans opened so many possibilities that I can't wait to see what Blizzard comes up with next.
Most importantly the Talisman. The charm system will be brilliant, and I can't wait to see it make a comeback.
I don't think they need to add extra content and randomization for the current content, since they stated at Blizzcon that they will be patching more stuff in post release.
