Is it better to run two dps to push GR70+ or is it better to run a support? If it's better to run a support then my follow up question is does monk or barb support work better with WW barb?
You can't really generalize here, it's a question of powerlevel matching with chosen GR. For example, at paragon 500 and low-geared GR70 can be quite hard and a support is definitely a better idea. A week into a season though you'll be paragon 800+ or 1000+ and run GR70 in 3 minutes... solo or with 2 DPS. Doesn't matter, no support needed.
Generally speaking, you need to kill stuff before it kills you. As simple as that. As soon as stuff lives long enough to harm you, support starts becoming powerful (depending on class and build, of course).
Also, if there's a power difference between the two players, the lower one should go for support. If you are dealing only 10% or 20% of the damage, you might as well not deal any damage and instead focus more on buffing the other player's damage.
Whenever your rifts are averaging 4+ or more minutes, or whenever you feel that one player is not contributing any significant damage, or whenever a player dies frequently in a GR, it makes sense to think about support or lower the GR level. It depends on what you want to do: fast paragon farming and low level gem upgrades (secondary gems/augments)? Lower GR to stay fast enough. Or do you want to push your GR records and level up your highest gems? Go support.
Thanks for the reply, I dont have much experience pushing GRs so that really shines some light on my question/dilemma. I'll most likely end up just playing a dps role now.
