Well if they stay true to biblical text then the sign in the sky perhaps will be the coming of the Horseman of War. If I'm right then that may be completely new twist to the game, but cool none the less.
But this is all speculation.
Edit: it is also stated that the Horseman of Death would raise the dead to fight the living. But again this is all speculation.
I thought about adding a spoiler tag but Blizz had confirmed back 6+ months ago Belial and Azmodan would be in the game, so if you aren't up to date on 6+ month old news, well sorry.
So, I'm guessing Azmodan won the stalemate in Hell. In the Legacy of Blood novel written by Richard A. Knaak, Xazax was one of Belial's minions, and it said in the book that Belial wasn't doing so great against Azmodan.
So maybe Belial lost, and was exiled to Sanctuary. Or maybe this has all been planned to work this way by Hell's Prime Evils.
Are you able to link a source for this? I was under the impression all the books were canon.
Sorry I should also add that I think this thread should have a spoiler tag. Just because Blizzard may have announced the boss of act 2, doesn't mean there aren't people who don't want to know anything about the story yet.
I'm sure Diablofans don't want people ignoring their site just because people don't think they need to warn about spoilers.

I didn't know that the boss was verified for act 2, but in Diablo knowing who the boss is doesn't exactly defeat playing the game. They also announced Diablo will be a boss in this game, is that a spoiler too?

To some people yes. I have a friend that has been a hardcore Diablo fan since the first one came out. He still plays D2 actively on B.net and refuses to read the forums or Blizzard interviews due to wanting to find out the story as he plays.
Personally the Diablo 3 story has been something I've debated and discussed since playing to the end of Lord of Destruction. I've looked forward to the story of Diablo 3 for a very long time and read all the books. The more I can avoid the better.
Before they announced Diablo being the last boss or hearing that Belial is the boss of Act 2 the story could have had gone in more directions. Diablo could have been missing from the game until a future expansion.
Regardless of what I say, talking about story facts regardless of where they were found should probably be labled as spoilers?
There has to be somewhere we draw the line on what is a spoiler and what isn't. If you don't keep up with the news then that's sort of your own fault. Some might consider items/skills/classes a spoiler even. It gets out of hand at some point. I'll slightly alter the title but I don't think it's necessary.
Also I can't find it right now but I remember reading the only book that's canon is The Sin War trilogy.
1 questions, is thatan unmodified screenshot from the beta ? As I've seen in many streams, dialog texts are shown in the chat box corner, is there an option that display them above the character like in the image ?

I can confirm that if you talk to a NPC the dialogue box looks like that.
Its most certainly not established what the falling star is. Although there are some hints through artwork that it could be an angel, we really don't know. And @phranx, only the Sin War books are canon, the other books aren't. That being said I think the civil war between Azmodan and Belial does play a role in D3.

Yes, there are options to display ON/OFF some features like sub-titles (Audio tab), health bar of monsters, health bar of players, etc.

I think he's just pointing out a future boss of the game.
Countless meaning like 2 or 3.
Man, for something that's countless you sure counted it up quick
But ya this has been confirmed a while ago, plus hes one of the only lesser evils not yet destroyed
Be my Buddy =^.^=
I wish so much there was an act boss in beta, I 100% understand why there isnt, but oh one could wish =P
