This is my first post but not my last. I have been a long time reader and lurker here and I have been racking my brain with all this new leaked info and loving it! What I did not like was finally registering here and wanting to post when I get an e-mail that was funny, obvious and scary at the same time. The e-mail address I used to register here has never been used to register anywhere else. I am not saying this email came from here but its a strange coincidence.
What was in the email from a "Diablo3(noreply@blizzard.com)"
We’re gearing up for the forthcoming launch of Diablo III and would like to extend you an invitation to participate in the beta test. If you are interested in participating, you need to have a Battle.net account, which you can create on our Battle.net website.
We will flag you for access to the Diablo III beta test when we begin admitting press. You do not need to go through the opt-in process.
To secure your place among the first of Sanctuary’s heroes,Please use the following template below to verify your account and information via email.
I know we are all excited and giddy as school girls about D3 coming to us real soon, but please everyone be careful and use common sense when receiving something like this. Always remember: BLIZZARD WILL NEVER ASK FOR YOUR PASSWORD!
I look forward to discussing and maybe even playing through a few acts with you all!

Courage isn't the absence of fear, it's the presence of fear yet the will to go on.
To see if you can enter the beta: Download the client linked in Deventh's thread; Try and log in. If you managed you've been selected, if not than hopefully a bit later.

Thanks for the heads up but I haven't been bestowed that fortune from Blizzard as of yet. I am a looooong time Blizzard fan (loved The Lost Vikings!) and I am pretty familiar with their procedures about entering beta's.
That's one useful first post, I hope everyone follows it. And I actually laughed from your response.
I hope they do also! Instead of letting these scumbags make me mad with every fake email I get I respond to them like that just to let them know that not everyone is as dumb as they think we are.

Actually, you shouldn't answer those e-mails as you may have been flagged as an active e-mail account so you may get some more of these and other kinds of spam/phishing.

Nah, my wife fixed it so as I won't get anything from that address again, plus that email is there for junk mail anyways. Just wanted people to see what they are sending out and to be careful.
