Not sure if this is a dumb question. But my brother made a Battle.net account years ago and played WoW. You're not supposed to give accounts away, but, he did anyway to me. I played WoW for awhile, got sick of it and lost my authenticator and serial keys for WotLK and BC. Just today, I found the serials and unlocked my (or my brothers') old BNet account. He still has his old WoW games on there, WotLK and BC that I bought and D2/D2 LoD. I also have my own Bnet account with original SC and D2/D2 LoD on it. I was wondering if it would be a good idea to apply for the beta on both accounts. Would they realize we have the same system specs/net address and ruin my chances or something? Are there people that have extra CD Keys and just create new Bnet accounts to have extra shots into the beta? Is this considered "bad"? I'm hesitant to ask this question, but, it seems fine to me. I also have multiple PC's with varying specs from my decent gaming PC I'm on now, to my i7 Laptop and my moms' desktop in her room.
Thanks,
Necifix

I dont know about what it comes to the same computer. But I have wow accounts on different b.net accounts. And I myself have entered the beta on a few different comps. (my laptop, pc, and mac). They all have very different system specs, so a wide range of ways to help test out the beta on lower and high end computers. However all the accounts are in my name. Is this a bad thing... hard to say.

I have many D2 keys from over the years and multiple Bnet accounts as well. I basically have four different accounts, two with my current system specs, one with my laptop and one with my moms' desktop. I was just wondering if Blizzard can see this and would be like "HAY! U NOT FAIR! GTFO!"
These systems run the gambit from my current PC w/ an E8400 processor, 6GB of RAM, a 6850 GPU and made around 2008. To my laptop which was made late 2010 early 2011 and has a core i7, 4 GB of RAM and a 5650 built in GPU. Very fast laptop, high end. To my moms' PC w/ 3 GB of RAM, an AMD Athlon X2 processor and a built in HD 4200 GPU, lol. All on Windows 7. It's quite a diverse line up and I am just asking if this is considered 'illegal' or you can be penalized/disqualified for doing it.

If you have multiple computers I think its fair game to apply on each one... Though, even tho I could, I dont apply more than once on the same computer... but thats just me... I honestly dont think blizzard would care. You bought their game X times... I think they would think its fair game.
Yes, well, good luck. Hopefully I get in. I was in the first or second wave of invites for the StarCraft II beta. I don't care for StarCraft... at all, though, so I didn't even install the beta client for a month or two and I barely played it, lol. I feel bad for the people that were hungering to get into the SC2 beta and here I am just letting my beta invite rot.

There are hundreds of thousands of people that play in couples on a single PC. I used to do that with my wife 4 years ago before we bought a laptop. It's perfectly fine. But the more machines you have the greater the chance they pick you, so have that in mind.
Again, there is zero reason to be worried.
EDIT: And for the SC2 key, pff, are you kidding? You had to be extremely lucky to NOT get a beta key. Every guy and his dog and the dog's 3 puppies had at least 5 keys each. :]

My understanding is that not only is this accepted and allowed, but substantially one of the best ways to get into a beta (or give yourself the best chance of doing so) at the moment.
Blizzard could easily fix this, by making each game title you own, count as a single entry into beta draws. This would give their customers who purchase more of their games, a better chance.
As it stands now, the most effective approach is to spread your games out, across as many bnet accounts as possible, as each account gets you a single entry.
I once suggested this change in approach on their forums, and was rapidly trolled for it.
I put D2 and LoD on a single account... this makes me want to put just one or the other on many accounts, lol. I sound like such a jerk, but, I've played D2 on and off since I was 7 years old. I want this. Badly.
But so do you guys!

I'm fairly certain you can't. Since that way the game will have different logins. All expansion of a game need to be on the original game's account. So don't try anything like that in the future. You can make separate accounts for SC2 + future expansion; WoW + all expansion; Diablo 2 + LoD; etc. But not separate ones.
Oh, so, you can't have an expansion standalone? Alright. I'm sure I have more keys around somewhere though. I've bought Diablo upwards of a dozen times over the years.

Nah, you can totally have an expansion standalone. Just that you'll never be able to play it, since you won't have an original D2 on that account. Unless of course you buy a new one and add it to that account.

Then why not do that? More accounts.

I personally know some people who share one computer because family budget can't allow them to buy more pcs (which is not ultra rare these days) so I don't think that would even be considered, just do it and don't worry.

If you have srs bzns to conduct with me, better send a private message.
It's perfectly legal to have multiple b-net accounts tied to the same machine or IP (think about people using b-net accounts in Internet cafe's or other public places). Will it give you better chances to enter the beta? I don't really know, I'm guessing it won't.
Yes it will. From 0.0000001 to 0.0000002. Also, those are pretty accurate numbers. I assume there are about 20 million Bnet accounts. Actually probably twice as more... maybe 3 times. After all so many people have multiple accounts... It's kinda silly when you look at the number and think about it. ^^
