We've seen bits and pieces of Sanctuary, though I'm sure there's plenty more to see. I expect to have a wide variety of terrain to venture into along our path, though I'll admit I have my favorites. Out of all the acts in Diablo 2, act 1 was by far my favorite. I enjoyed the open wetlands, and claustrophobic feeling catacombs. Hell was fun to though, in that it was a big change of pace, and presented a good amount of challenges.

I'm right there with you. Those wetlands were definitely my favorite.

A note, Act 1 was more woodland, Act 3 was wetland
I like the natural environments that have visual diversity, especially the mountain, woodland and wetland.

If that made sense to you, Bravo! I think I even confused myself...

I guess you're right, I forgot about the massive amounts of swamps in act 3.

Liked Act 1. Especially the Black Marsh. The Countess was probably one of my favorite quests, it was optional and had an amazing story. It also showed the evil of humans rather than just "the demons made me do it!"
Probably I'd have to go with Act I. I like the open ended plains and the woodlands. And the dungeons are definitely up there. My least favorite was Act II / desert. I always hated the desert landscape, maybe because the colors and contrast seemed all the same, I just found it very boring. The monsters there were cool though. >w<
Though I didn't enjoy the first half of act 3 in Diablo 2 I do like jungle settings and would love to see some of that in Diablo 3. If not in the reg release perhaps an expansion. Visiting the Amazon isles would be nice.
Woodland environments have always been my favorite. Even outside of the Diablo universe, woodlands reign supreme. I always found myself wandering around in the woods in Ultima Online, or questing in dank forests in WoW.
The feeling of having all that foliage around you acts sort of like a natural cage - you cannot easily escape, and getting lost is a risk you're willing to take. And who knows what might be stalking the clearing ahead.

On the topic at hand, I picked Desert and Forest, but I'm down for anything that looks cool. Definitely tend to prefer outdoor to indoor though.

Yay for community with good taste!
Woodlands have an excellent opportunity to be creepy. I also like the looks of many of the dungeons thus far.
I hate the way you cling to ignorance and pass it off as innocence
