One thing which i didn’t quite enjoy in D3 was how random team mates would run off on their own and try to complete the game in the fastest possible time. There wasn’t any incentive to keep the group closely knit and adventure together.
Neither was there a mechanism to truly promote and reward good co-operation and tactics in the game.
An idea which I think would be cool to be implemented would be to combine different skills from different classes to create new spells with different effects or significantly increased damage.
Imagine this:
A witch doctor lobs a burning skull bomb on a barbarian who uses whirlwind and launches the projectile at great speed from a good distance at a siege beast.
Skill runes plus skill combinations from other classes, imagine the unlimited possibilities, every new multiplayer co-op game would be a whole new experience!
You know, if you need to see improvements in coop, you need not look any further than the individual drops mechanic. If every person is seeing their own drop, there is no way they would run off and bust ass to kill a boss when they can just grab the other people in the game to help them.
MF will go completely differently, there will be very few sorcs running mephisto by themselves, there will be parties running through and smashing every boss for the individual drops.

Random team mates would run off because they do not fear what is ahead and they think they can handle what's ahead. On harder difficulties, you don't see this very much.

Like frost skills + whirlwind, for example.
