item mods i noticed from the demo:
magic find was there
+life or mana
+lightning damage fire damage
+ individual stats were there
+ all attributes
increased casting speed
increased spell damage
+ .06 attacks per second
+ 8 more experience per mob killed
(last three were new/surprising)
lots of stuff that would give bonuses then say (witchdoctor or wizard only)
weapons would show a range but display the average damage at the top
lots of scrolls:
scroll of increased strength
scroll of rejuvenation (increased mana regen i think.. can't remember 100%)
other things:
shrines (they said wouldn't be returning) were plentiful in the demo
potions have (a minute?) cooldown

they'll never see me coming.. life is a sequence of tragedies, inconsistent only by fleeting, elusive moments of pleasure,
serving only to ensure absolute vulnerability to the pain of their inevitable absence.
Do you think that the +.06 attacks per second is a different way of saying Increased attack speed?
yea and also the 8 exp per mob is just like the d2 mod of % increased experience. i was just surprised by the new wording of them.
edit: also remembered there was +%movement speed on boots, and a "manasteal" mod that was like +1 mana per hit on weapons
party members were blue dots on the screen, you were yellowish/orangish and summons were purple.
if party members were off your screen it showed a blue arrow on the minimap pointing to their direction. if you went to the big map it showed their names.

I will make some questions, if you remenber, answer then to make your topic even more hotter !
What about item types? Only normal (white), magic(blue) and rare(yellow) ?
And od you have any idea of what every stats give ?
Any elemental damage or resistance besides fire, cold, lightning, arcane and poison?
When you equip a belt/glove/boots does your character model changes ?

there were white, blue, and yellow items
for stats:
strength gives you melee/ranged damage bonus, armor bonus, and determines your chance to block
dex determines your dodge chance, lowers your chance to be interrupted, and raises your crit chance
vitality gives your total life and your mana regen
willpower gives you spell damage bonus, and determines how much health you get from health orbs
i don't remember the resistances ><
but i remember the size of the list of resistances, and i could have sworn it was more than 5.. (maybe others have more info?)
i didn't notice belt/glove/boot changes, but wasn't looking for them either ><
the hat/weapon/armor changes were noticeable.

Cool info!
What class did you play?
Do you know if the items that had to do with mana effected things like fury, too?
i played them all, but mostly monk(wizard once, witchdoc twice, barb twice, monk ten or so times)
pretty sure that things that affected mana didn't matter for fury

After you died in battle and got spawned at the appropriate waypoint or whatever, let's say you had to continue through an area that you "cleaned" already.... were there ANY number of monsters there (even a few) again or were mutilated bodies or blood stains the only inhabitants?

lol it can still easily be a ranger since who said you cant shoot arrows at melee distance xD

The Barbarian is from Arreat, a very cold snowy mountain top, but they are much tougher than normal humans, so they don't need warmth.

Where are Barbarians originally from? Sumeria, or more specifically Mesopotamia, AKA Europe. Think the Alps and the Pyrenees
speaking of death, there were timed dungeons. if you entered them you couldn't go back out the entrance and had to find the exit (in a maze-like map) before 3 mins and some seconds was up.
if the time expired you died!
i don't think i'll ever want to go in those in hardcore mode. (though i guess you could save and exit before time was up but that would be a terrible time to lose connection or something)
someone gave me negative rep for this thread:
Why bother recapping a few bits of info already under discussion all over the forums? Pointless spammy thread...
i just wanted to defend myself a bit: i made this thread primarily in hopes of new information from either people that had played the demo or people that had seen videos or screenshots of others playing.
i was hoping maybe others had noticed, for instance, some items mods that i hadn't. (i certainly didn't see all the ones i listed in one sitting so i'm sure there's more that i never saw.)
additionally, i have been gone all weekend and if this information has already been posted or covered then i apologize, but i haven't had the opportunity to catch up on the burst of threads that cropped up during blizzcon.
and nothing about new item mods came up in searches i DID perform before posting.
im sure some of the things i mentioned (shrines, timed dungeons, what stats do) is spoken of elsewhere, however i was expressing the things that were of special notice to me or responding to other posts.
anyway whatever grr

nerolucien, i don't know. maybe physical was down there too. or maybe i'm just crazy and there was only 5. i just feel like the list was like

but like i said maybe im mistaken.
pwnsickle, it was really fun but every time you'd get into it you'd get kicked off.. (you could only play 15-20 mins depending on the line)
scyberdragon, no the trees were just called skill tree A, skill tree B, skill tree C.
tree A was offense+defense or straight dps. tree B was like debuffs/dots. tree C was pure defensive skills.
im sure there's more cohesion than it appears with just the 8 skills we saw.
tree A had: force without thought, seven sided strike, inner sanctuary, and way of the hundred fists
tree B had: crippling wave and exploding palm
tree C had: impenetrable defense and radiant visage
(you can read about what each did here)

I'm glad shrines are returning, I just hope they make sure they don't add in useless ones (Exploding shrine, I'm looking at you)

My typical train of thought: Everything -> Sex -> Diablo

I think I remember reading somewhere that the resistence/magic types were along the lines of:
Arcane
Fire
Ice
Lightning
Poison...
So if there was more than five, what would the fifth one be?
I like the +8 more experience per mob kill.
and if I might add, I'm extremely jealous you got to play the demo that many times. how was it?

Did you notice any socketed items? or gems, runes, or gewels.
If you put them in armor or weapons did they change color or have some sort of effect.
Also about the timed quests and hardcore. I really hope they make it so your character stays alive if he/she dies in a timed quest.
Thank you and hope you had a blast!
