Anyone who attended Blizzcon, Do you guys know what computers these demos run on cause it looks like all setting maxed and four people nonstop spamming skills and no lag. So if they are running on some inexpensive computer im definetley buying that. So if anyone knows or has some idea of the maker can you please let us know?

im sure the computer specs were not shown to public. and besides with events like these usually ocmputer companies (ex. dell, hp, etc.) usually supply computers for the event. and with a company that does that. they could be supercomputers. or they could be low computers. who knows.
Damn cause those videos show no lag i remember doing the cow level with a full game and everyone would just use one spell and BAM it froze for like five seconds then i would lag out it sucked so muchhaving such a bad computer at the time. its a good thing im getting a new one before this game and SC2 comes out.

They actually didn't look to special in any case. Like Necro said, a standard Dell or HP. But who knows and who cares really. Just wait for the reqs of the game to go public when it is eventually released years from now and find any comp to run it. I don't think the computer type was meant to be the direction of attention, so at this point I wouldn't look into it too much. =)
there is a wide range of stuff im sure most of it is just in just dell and a bunch of acer stuff but there are also a lot of alienware stuff as well. in the community turny section its all laptops so the XPS and Alienware go like half and half after playing on those its SOOOO nice im really considering getting a nice gaming laptop instead of a tower i just couldn't belive how nice they feel and run,
O anther thing every compter there is using the Razer lycos keyboard as well as the new headsets im pretty sure my spelling is all wrong here but its early and im typing in the dark since everyone in my room is still asleep.
O ya i almost forgot i believe they said that they had over 17,000 computers on floor which is crazy it might have been 1700 but i think thats too small anyways its was 17 something and there are tons of computers around a lot more than last year standing in line for stuff goes really fast.
I am pretty sure the Desktops were Alien ware. The keyboard and mouse were as far as I remember. The details weren't given and weren't accessible. The front of the case was actually locked as well so it was pretty much just a black box.
Hello,
no matter what computer they are running the game on right now in 2009, it would be so cheap and outdated in 2011-2012 that it doesnt really matter.
Very good point. I'm seriously considering buying a 24" iMac, has anyone had good/bad experiences with this? (I've never had a Mac, but I wet myself everytime I go into an apple store...)
Hahah Macs are so expensive
I find Gateway computers and laptops to be nice
Dirt cheap 1.5k (canadian) for a 9Gb DDR3 Intel i7 Extreme 1 Tb and a Hd Rad Video card is not bad but can always be swapped:)
Edit: Laptops are pretty much the same good stuff for cheap too
Obv not as good as the towers but yeah
Edit Again: Sorry its 1700cad for
intel i7 2.0?
12 gb ram
1tb HDD
Nvidia x260 1Gb?
Hd 5.1 Audio
Laptops same Price are Duo 17" 4 gb Ram 500 Gb HDD same card same audio
For that price I would buy a Alienware tho I like them:) Laptops not desktops tho desktops look weird to me.
If you're going to get a new computer, the best bang for your buck is to assemble it yourself. It takes a little bit of reading, but overall it is pretty simple. (I had a harder time putting together my desk with labeled plans than assembling my PC through internet-based guides) Companies such as Dell, Alienware etc make excellent products, but they contain just about the same parts you can buy online and charge far far more than the sum total of the parts. When I built my PC 3.5 years ago, it ran me about $1,100 us for all the parts. I priced equivolent models from dell & alienware at around $2,000 to $2,200. For something that took about a couple hours of tinkering and ~7-8 hours of researching parts & guides, i think thats well worth the price.
Of course, those companies also typically offer warrenties and such so if you feel thats needed then yea you may want to stick with them. Most parts do have manufacturers gurentees though, so if you catch it malfuctioning quickly & know its that part, you can generally get replacements.
You can probably build rigs equivolent to what they had at blizzcon for about $1000 or less. No idea what the specs are, but my wager is that those are rented rigs that are shuffled between conventions, schools etc. They're not likely tippy top of the line, but I could be completly wrong.
I am sure the first poster was referring to "lag" as graphical lag. The game was most likely being played on a local area network (LAN), and as to the systems they were playing on, I am not certain of the manufacturer. Blizzard can surely afford some nice gaming PC's, so let's assume that the demos were being played on top-of-the-line computers.

That almost sounds like a connection problem, not a computer problem.
Most modern computers should be more than powerful enough to do D@. However, if somebody only has a 256 k connection, that would slow everything down.
Hahah yeah True Rousse But I find Alienware Laptops to look nice and if I have to pay alittle more for
A changable Coloured light keyboard and biometric Facial Reconnision Ill gladly BUY IT
Plus a 1200p HD Screen

It's the decisions you make when you have no time to make them that define who you are.
it's local i'm assuming.
Blizzard afiliates a lot with Dell and they occasionally use Alienware.

your are more likely to have your laptop overheating than desktops
