I was just thinking about how the first time i ever played Diablo 2 LoD with my two cousins i needed the GUIDE BOOK. A necessity if you must. That book was so helpful without giving anything away but what the quest was about. The best guide book in my mind because of the way the game was made. Because the game had a never ending mix and match of maps you couldn't tell where to go exactly therefore you couldn't map out a full guide and i believe it was helpful anyway giving you the stats of all skills and their levels all classes and backgrounds to them. I was just wondering if they had any plans to make a guide like the Diablo 2 one for Diablo 3 because i will need it to complete the game first time and then im going to need all the lore i can get and tips as well i loved the small tips they gave in the Diablo 2 one.

Not even Death will save you from Diablo Bunny's Cuteness!
"I was 10 years old and almost peed my pants from the excitement of killing Blood Raven with a sword that had a chipped topaz in it but thats not the point."
Oh My God that's priceless. I remember the first time i fought andariel my bother had to click my potion belt for me because we were not use to the no "auto" fill pots.

Guessing it'll be up to the publishers (prima, brady games, etc.). Blizzard doesn't make their own guides as far as I know. I'm sure they'll be licensing to the publishers sooner or later so they'll be ready when the game releases. Keep an eye out on amazon.com in the next year or two for release dates for these books - it's a good way to gauge when the game is coming out because the publishers' release coincides with the game release.
And I agree with Pjanoo. Blizzard seems to be refining their formula for making simple-yet-attractive gameplay, so I doubt Diablo III will need a guide. After all, they want you to be able to play with nothing but a mouse. A guide might be warranted to help you plan your character or identify certain items you might want to obtain, though. And if the quest system is anything like it was in D2, it will probably be very linear and not take a whole lot of thought that something like, say, Fallout 2 or Baldur's Gate 2 required.
Mmmm good ole mind-numbing, brainless fun. Diablo is my opiate.
Well i foudn the strategy guide book to be very helpful. To let me know how high the runes were that i found and armor. I could see what type of build to make my character. Crafting they had all the reciepes. There were alot of stuff in them that you would not know just by playing. Remember the game is going to be easy at first but as your progress it is going to get harder. And i am sure as bashiok has mention there are other things that could be better for crafting than a cube .
There's something to be said for fully exploring the game you've purchased. Most games aren't so hard that they require a guide. If you do a little thinking, and use the tools you're given, such as maps or quest logs, you can figure it out on your own.
I'm speaking for myself, as I know many people enjoy guide books. But personally, when I have to halt the action and flip open a book and read, it takes me out of the game and diminishes the enjoyment of the game experience.
Blizzard releases guide books for all of their games. Because they sell. Because their games sell.
