"Always respect the purity of battle. For only in the heart of combat are all pretenses of nobility and quality stripped away, replaced by survival and death."
It'd end up completely boring. Nothing to strive for, no ultimate goal in sight. And after a while the amount of EXP needed to level would just become ridiculous.
It would get so hard at one point that there may as well be a level cap because no ones ever gone past it
If D2 had no level cap, it would take years to level from 120-121
I suppose they could do that... it gives it an illusion of being open and free, but in reality, no ordinary human being would go past that certain level anyway
im sure there is someone out there who would be like "must be at the top of the Ladder!!!" lol
Actually now thinking about it... let say that 99 was kind of the max lvl but inorder to get to 100, 101, 102 ect... it wold take just as much exp as it took to go from 98-99... cuz after all its just a measureing tool... i think this might do some cool things for the ladder.. mabey what do you think?

im opposed to infinite lvls. what the cap should be, I dont know. 99 was ok except its such an ugly number. Ladder will have its perks like always. hopefully its not item perks because the "dump in" of ladder only items rapidly destroys non ladder markets
Look up AC2. You'll have about .5% of people (the best losers) at level 180 and everyone else at level 90 vainly trying to catch up just to compete. Worst idea ever.

I can barely scroll past your sig blackwing. Rofl.
Why do people immediately assume that just because someone plays hardcore that means he has more time to spend on the game? I think it would totally suck, especially in hardcore, when you reached maximum level first and someone can still pass you by. You're pretty much done with a character one you're level 99, and often you're done with a character far before that. So what would, aside from staying #1 on the ladder, be the point to keep playing that character? Nothing, but you'd be forced to.
Well it would be fun if we could get to lvl 127 in closed net, by natural means. Maybe there could be an extra super fantastic uber unlocked at lvl 100, who is so difficult it would take like 4 smiters to kill him/her
There should definately be a level cap. Players need something to work towards.
If players want some kind of additional recognition or reward for hitting level cap, then have one dungeon that can only be accessed at lvl 99 which is challenging and rewards the player with decent drops and a vanity item for showing off (perhaps a crown or King's robe)

There would have to be a skill lvl cap so you can't max out every tree.
I could see it being a Hardcore feature.
But other than that what would be the point?
I think the level cap should be more than 99, however. I think a level cap of 120 with an extended difficulty past Hell Mode would be sufficient.

Glad to see I'm not the only one.

I think you misread his meaning in his post.

Blizz would never do something so stupid.
