Continuing the theme of my previous thread, how do you think people would react to Blizzard placing install limits on Diablo 3? Would you refuse to buy the game if install limits were implemented?
why woudl they do that in the first place?
oh, prevent tcp ip/lan/open battle net games maybe?
i read somewhere they were not even sure they would implemente them...
but thet would completel suck
i installed diablo 2 like a dozen times thru all these years
They wouldn't do that. As they were already asked about copy protections they answered that they would make the online content so attractive that such things shouldn't be needed since most of us want to get to battle.net.
Most of the people that pirate the game for single player only, don't really play the game so much.. they try it, play couple of acts and so on(some of them ofc get hooked and play a lot more). So if there wasn't pirates available for these guys they wouldn't buy the game anyways.
Pirated versions of games are available in dedicated stores throughout Lebanon..that's how common it is here. I can go out now, and get Diablo I, Hellfire, Diablo II, and LoD in one DVD for 3$. I wouldn't do that with regards to Diablo III, since I want to go on Battle.net, and experience everything correctly. Pirated games suck..I have over 130 of them, to be honest..nothing beats the original.
i would buy it cause most if not all games will be like that in the future
I seriously doubt it. Install limits have killed a few games so far and they'll continue to do so. Until P2P is alive multiple installs are only going to hinder companies. Especially with competitors like Steam.
I would be ok with it if blizzard set it at like 5- 10 times. I really do not see a need for more than that. The bigger problem for me though is stopping the bots and keeping the game legit. Also get rid of all the spam on bnet. I remember at one point you could barely read anything without some bold bright letters spamming a website constantly. To me that needs to be address and in a big way . And if they do a PvP with rewards or wagering it has to be legit. Because to find some of the uniques and rares it takes alot of work and hours. Please blizzard get that fixed on bnet before anything.

You don't, others do. I reinstalled my games many, many, many times because I reinstall Windows basically every 6 months and I also tend to uninstall and install games pretty lightly. I want to be able to continue doing that. What's the difference between 5, 10, and infinite installs? There really isn't. Except for the person.

Go find another tread for this, please, it's clearly offtopic.
I would be annoyed if they had a install limit (not that they need one with b.net) but would unfortunately still get the game, I have my games installed to a seperate hdd then my os, so when I format I just re-register the games into my system without re-installing them.

I would do the same.
b. guys, stop pretending like you wouldn't buy the game. You so would even if it cost a 100$.

And as Dimebog said.. this thread is useless
RIP: Demon Hunter: lvl 50 | Barb: lvl 60 (plvl 5) | Monk: lvl12 & lvl70 (plvl 200)
Rise and rise again, until lambs become lions
That's acceptable to me, what isn't is limiting installs and then basically terminating the CD

It's the decisions you make when you have no time to make them that define who you are.
